Lets completely ignore the last 75 years of comics and how the majority of comics were social commentary on the issues, political or otherwise, in their time. Odd that people didn't complain as much then. It's almost like putting decent writing as a higher priority than the social issues is better than how the modern comics just throw in random things to try to appeal to people who don't read comics in the first place with no regard for the quality of writing.
