This country was built by Freemasons. One of their major symbols is the Twin Pillars, which is the idea that there are two pillars standing before Solomon's Temple. And you see it and there appears to be a choice, the left one, or the right one. But in reality, there isn't a choice between the pillars, there is only one answer in the middle, the pathway to the Temple/salvation.

The message of that being, there are no choices, only the results of two opposing forces. It's not that one or the other is going to win, it's that they work together to produce one ultimate result. The answer is always balance. Balance, like the crossway of two paths meeting, the cross Christ was hung on. Balance like the Earth being in the goldilocks zone of the perfect temperature, not too hot and not too cold.

This political system as we know it is built on that philosophical idea.
