Rant about her personally...

Oh joy, a copyright extremist that thinks anyone who shares music over the internet should be banned for life. There's certainly conversations to be had about copyrights in the digital age, but her take on it is so radically extreme that it would be utterly pointless to discuss it with her. So fine; I shall do as she wishes and not share any of her music. I wish her the best of luck in having a career so uninspiring that no one ever wishes to discuss her music ever again, allowing her to wallow in obscurity as she so desperately wishes.

...

Okay, normally I don't disqualify artists due to their politics, but come on. When a deranged banshee is screaming about how you need to be banned from the internet for sharing her music because that's the only way to stop Simon Cowell's puppets taking over the world, it kinda makes it impossible to listen to any of her music. With other artists, it's easy enough to say that their views aren't relevant to a specific track, but her views are about music itself. And her beliefs aren't even logical! If people can't listen to music without buying it, the result would be people only buying popular music that they know they would like--her delusional "let's destroy the internet forever" plan would only hurt the small artists she claims to be doing this for.

...I actually get more angry about her position the more I think about it because it is so blatantly false that I can't tell if she's utterly delusional or just a terrible liar. How does she think extreme copyright laws punish large corporations? Corporations have enough money to keep lawyers on hand to prosecute everyone and defend themselves against any attempt at retaliation. Smaller artists wouldn't be able to do crap; they couldn't afford the monetary cost of filing lawsuits against everyone sharing their music, nor could they afford risking what fans they did have--as soon as they started getting people banned from the internet entirely for listening to their music, the public backlash could destroy them.

And then there are the assaults. She cut a photographer's face outside of a nightclub (presumably she just wanted to punch him and her ring did more damage than she meant to) and I swear something else where she attacked someone with her shoe or something, though I'm having trouble finding the exact link again.

To be absolutely fair to her, she says she suffers from all sorts of problems (bipolar, PTSD, I think her Wikipedia article mentioned others), but if the stress from your job causes to physically assault people you should probably find another job.

[FINAL NOTES: Yeah, this song is ending up near the bottom and I refuse to post any links to her music. If she wants absolutely no one to ever share her music, I'm all too happy to oblige on that point. #MaliciousCompliance #NotHowHashtagsWork #notallfoxes]
