You can only pull the trigger if someone is going to die if you don't. You never shoot to take a life, only to save one. The second the threat stops you cannot fire legally, much less morally. A partner of mine was teaching a Concealed Carry class and some guy kept insisting that if someone broke in to his house and lived, he would walk over to him and put one in his head. After explaining that that was an execution and you could get life in prison for it, he still stuck to his verbal plan and argued with my friend. When the time came to give everybody the certificate that you passed the class (in order to give to the state to get your CCWP or CCL CWP etc. along with a background check and both hand prints / 10 finger prints), my friend would NOT pass him and told him he shouldn't have a gun.
