I'm basically planning a simple game designed to try and get newer players into Mafia, preferably with a bunch who've not played at all or much before. I'll be looking on CE for some who're completely new and there's a few signed up already. Not sure if I'd be able to work with a gimmick like this or it'd be the best way to introduce those completely unfamiliar with it.

I have run multiple successful two-players-per-slot games in the past, and making sure newbies are paired with vets is easy.

However, I don't really recommend it for what you have in mind. I have a hunch it would give the vets too much influence in the game itself unless there are rules in place to limit their in topic activity (which would force them into a backseat/helper role for the newbies, but is super awkward and not really worth imo)
