I thought I spelled it out but guess not. I get the feeling some people are acting outraged purely because they hate Sony and this is a good stick to hit them with.
Is it shitty to require PSN to play a game on steam? Sure. But where was the outrage when you needed an Ubi account to play Ubi games or similar. Again Im not saying its not shitty. It definitely is. But the so called outrage seems a bit much to me personally.
Problem is it isn't only shitty, it's shitty^3.
The account linking bullshit is always annoying, but if the game is primary sold over the ubistore or EA Store or whatever, and Steam is just the secondary retail plattform... well, then I can still decide if I want it on Steam or not. If it were mandatory and a big issue, people could still simply decide not to buy it, or refund it within Steam as soon as the pop up would come up.
It now went on for 3 months. Everything is working fine, I have no issues with cheaters or hackers, even the scumbags are pretty rare and there is not a single issue with crossplay either. The game works fine with Steam accounts. Crossplay, ingame store, everything works, so suddenly there is a need for the PSN account when they proved for months that their servers are able to handle steam 100% fine. They showed us how good the steam account works, and now tell us that we have to link a PSN account, for reasons.
The whole region issue. That's just baffling, and a huge fuckup. Something like that should not be possible for such a big international company at all.
