The first step to defeating a problem is admitting you have a problem.

It is, but if you only ever take the first step, you won't defeat the problem. Consider second steps.

You are going to be met with hostility. Sometimes you will make progress and still be criticized for not making more. That doesn't make it futile though. Sometimes you have to get better without recognition. It takes time. Put up with a little nastiness to make as much progress as you can, walk away when it's more hurtful than helpful. You don't have to take a beatdown, but don't lash out at everyone that's rude. A lot of views don't deserve to be argued against courteously.

But you seem to be in a mood where you're receptive to broadening your view. If you're willing to listen and try to understand some views, I will entertain your arguments and viewpoints to have an actual discussion.
