Only well organized militias have the right to bear arms.
That's a great answer for the prompt "Tell me you lack reading comprehension without telling me."

I imagine the insurance solutions themselves would be fairly... Cheap overall, even at $25K+ policy.

Say $100/year (less than $9 a month, less than basically any meal at McDonald's) across even a million legal guns is $100M a year for insurance companies. Most insurance companies won't even begin to touch issuing a policy per gun without the pre-existing legal forms in hand/uploaded so that is on those looking for pure legal ownership.

Which just makes me think this will become an addendum to gun ownership that only hurts those looking to engage in full legal ownership of their weapons and provides an ostensibly legal path for the government to seize guns from citizens who already want to do the right thing.

This truly just feels like a "We're doing something, we swear!" bill
Let me tell you all how this type of insurance will work if insurers even choose to offer it.

Poor people living in high crime areas: $100 per month per firearm
Wealthy people living in crime-free areas: $5/month (insures all firearms)
