Rather than collecting stat icons throughout the level like you would in Tony Hawk, you'd have to grind in order to collect XP for your grind Stat. - Completing goals would change the layout of the stage. - No timer to stress about. Just chill out and skate. Game is really underrated. I mean, this game is only $15-20 new right now. I've been well aware of the somewhat meh reception. Going in with fairly low/modest expectations. Though I get what you mean about the game being a bit depressing though. I guess the worst thing would be if I tried playing it and I only wanted to go back to the PS2 games. For what it's worth, Project 8 and Proving Ground depressed me a bit.
