Info is pointing towards the level cap increasing during shadowbringers patches, not the patches leading to 5.0

I mean we all knew this. The level cap for SB is 70 and wouldn't be raised until the expansion.

i.e. even when 5.0 drops BLU still won't be at the rest of the jobs levels

Blue mages were too tedious to use. There's always a gimmick to learning their skills and I just can't be bothered with it

Usually they had like 1-4 good skills and 20-30 useless ones too

Even better when one or more of the must have ones are permanently missable. FFVII had one that the game only uses one time ever.

Gaius was the "final boss" of the base game, a realm reborn, kinda, and he used a gunblade as his weapon.

the leak leads to believe that gunblader or something like that is gonna be the next class in the game.

But yeah BLU is gonna be a joke, like mormaud put it, the relic weapon of classes lol

I think it is more like the Gold Saucer of classes. Seems like a neat piece of side content that no one will really utilise after a few months, just like chocobo racing, triple triad, lord of vermillion

Why are people assuming this is just gonna be some "side content"? The stuff they released seems to be a way for us to get familiar with the mechanics, collect some skills so when the new Expansion is released we are ready to use the class.

Because they specifically showed it off as a "limited job" and didn't give any indication it would become a real job later. They expressed concern with implementing it without ruining its identity in the past and this is apparently the compromise they came up with. Waste of time and resources they could've used to make a real job.

Yeah, limited job for now.

The reason I feel they are releasing it before the expansion is so that we get to be familiar with it and collect skills. When the expansion is released they will give it the full potential. It might even be the first job with no specific role. This is just my hopes, but I trust them.

No, they specifically worded it to say its just for side solo content, they explained this for 30-40 minutes, wording every word carefully to let the monkeys that play this game fully understand that this class will never see relevant content ever, they don't want to balance it, they want people to have fun with it, on their own, without ruining anything for anyone else.

Seriously anyone who even understands how blue mage works knew from the second it was a possibility "this shit wont work in an MMO, not in FF14"

But then yoship in his brilliant mind thought "let's give them what they want, exactly what they want, but we know this doesn't work in an MMO so we're doing it as a little fun side content thing"

rejoice, you got you blue mage, go play it... on your own corner i guess.
