time for a summer drought. here are your big releases for the summer:
6/21 Shadows of the Damned 7/26 El Shaddai 7/26 Catherine 8/23 Deus Ex 3
I think that's it. thank goodness for stuff like summer of xbla, huh? October and November are going to be absolutely swamped but the summer is just a dead zone this year.
And hey, sometimes summer blockbusters do have great, likable characters, even if they aren't the deepest plots(Jack Sparrow, Indiana Jones, Marty McFly/Doc Brown, the cast of Aliens, etc). I like to think Uncharted is in that vein.

It will launch for $350 with some Wii Sports s***. I bet my life on it. Damn, that KoolAid guy is awesome - NGamer64
I love the characters. Uncharted has better characters than most games. Nate's right up there with Yuri for me. As far as the story, its fun to follow, but it's not as interesting in the same way Assassin's Creed or Metal Gear Solid are. It's not a continuous, developing storyline with a lot of twists and mystery, although UC1 and UC3 seem like they're going to be more closely linked together than UC1 and 2 were. For the most part, the stories begin and end in a single game. They're fun to follow, though, and the presentation is unmatched.

So I decided to give Fable 2 another shot the other day and I'm actually liking it a lot this time around. I think the first time I was approaching it like a Bioware game, when really it's a lot more like a Bethesda one.
I'm totally cool with it. I like Uncharted's story and its characters are alright. I just don't get the idea of looking forward to some Drake/Sully drama. I'd much rather look forward to an epic battle on a plane or trying to steal something from a boat. you know, things not really about the plot and more about just action.
Oh, I'm definitely looking forward to the big, inevitable plane crash (UC3's version of the train wreck, I'm sure) that we're seeing in the trailers, but Drake and Sully are awesome and I don't mind seeing more of them. I doubt we're going to be seeing 10 minute cutscenes or anything.

Okay, I need to take advantage of this free month of PS+ on my PS3. What's some good, free stuff I can get? I picked up Streets of Rage 2 last night. Need to find someone I can do some online co-op with!
Too bad I won't be able to use it anymore after the month is up. Kinda lame.

Sony's saying Vita support will match PS3 support going forward. They mention that one big mistake they made with the PSP was shifting resources away from it after a couple of years, which hurt it in the long run.
"Speaking before E3, Sony's head of WorldWide Studios Suhei Yoshida told us that the company's decision to concentrate much more on PS3 software than PSP titles was a "mistake" and hurt the handheld."
"We are doing about the same number of titles [on Vita as on PS3] so that means a lot," he stated. "One of the things we didn't do to well to support PSP was that right after PSP came out we moved on to working on the PS3 launch titles."
"We tried to back it up a couple of years ago but there was a time where we were not offering enough PSP content. So going forward we do not want to make the same mistake so we always look at the balance that we are doing in support of both PS3 and NGP."

HR was probably a bad demo. It's been getting nothing but praise everywhere else. I wish I had a computer capable of playing the 10 hour alpha build that got leaked - everyone says its terrific.
Beat AC2 tonight...that was some ending. Great game. Not sure if I'll dive right into Brotherhood after I finish up L.A. Noire or wait a bit.

Currently playing: Assassin's Creed II and L.A. Noire
yeah, game has a great difficulty curve. I think the last level goes a little bit beyond the fun difficulty and starts feeling like a grind. that's why I like City - it's not too tough and it encourages some on-the-fly switching that makes traversal really fun. after that it becomes more of a puzzle figuring out how to get past everything and the pace slows down a bit. still good though.
Played some more Brotherhood. It started off kinda fast, but now it's slowed down since Ezio's trying to build a base of sorts in Rome.
I have taken out a few Borgia Towers, which has been a blast (literally, oh ho ho ho). Can't beat mini-assassination missions followed by blowing stuff up!
