I want story damnit! They had the apparently far superior AC2 and orgasmic Brotherhood as well but AC1's ten bucks so 'eh'

Wanting to experience a continuous story is why I haven't started Mass Effect 2 yet! Why oh why isn't ME1 on the PS3... ;_;

Yeah, suffer through AC1, skip the sidequests, watch whatever hidden scenes there are online and move on to the vastly superior sequels that aren't likened to driving a nail through your palm.

Also, if you didn't purchase Dragon Age Ultimate Edition or if they aren't including the Prisoner of Stone DLC anymore, I do recommend it. The only other DLC I bought was Wardens Keep, which isn't terrible but not that great either. The others didn't seem worth the price.

Well I might not have internet access for a while so no DLC for now! Only thing included in it is something involving horses, and it's probably already been used.

also wut gmun I liked mana khemia

so

Dragon Age is kind of f***ing amazing

I thought I'd end up not liking Alistair since a lot of people hate him but he's pretty brilliant. Especially how he squares off against the dog so often. I guess he's the lovable witty idiot of the party. Morrigan (or however the hell you spell it) is also pretty badass, and they've probably both got semi-permanent places in my party!

*spoilers for Dragon Age*
Unfortunately, the one thing I've been spoiled about for this game is that one of them leaves you depending on what you do with Loghain. At least, I know Alistair will leave you if you don't kill him. I also know there's some way to make him king at the end, but I don't remember the specifics, and I just wanna wing it my first time.
*end spoilers*

Also loving how the choices in this game actually mean something. I had to seriously stop and think about what the possible consequences of some of my actions were, like Loghain's soldiers in the tavern in the first town. Got the dude in the cage and the priest rogue chick, is there anyone I should be looking out for?

I'm a racist elf rogue, by the way. Insulting kings ftw! >_>

Make sure to go to the Circle Tower pretty early to meet the healer, Wynne. I'm about 30 hours in and didn't realize that she was there. I've gotten by just on health poultices, but it would have made some of the battles easier with her.

You can teach Morrigan some heals (it's highly recommended btw), but she will always be stuck with the crappy Shapeshifter specialisation, while Wynne starts with the much better Spirit Healer specialisation.
I got through the game just fine with Morrigan as my healer though (using an assload of pultices, admittedly), so feel free to keep her as your healer.

I don't think that DAO did morality very well.

I liked that it tried to get away from black and white alignment some, yet it felt like a lot of the choices weren't really any different. It seemed like rather than offering you "grey" choices that are difficult to choose between or tell the consequences, you have a choice between a reasonably sane and logical solution, and murdering people for no reason. Or, screwing them over so badly for selfish reasons with the thin justification of doing anything necessary to stop the Blight, that it defeats the purpose of trying to help them and stop the Blight. :/

Also I'd go to the mage tower first just to get one of the longest, worst part of the game out of the way as soon as possible.

Yes.

Also, Rorona. The game doesn't automatically save the system data. This means gallery pictures, pretty much. So if you don't want your image gallery to be tragically empty when you finish the game just change the volume or something each time you're done playing to force a system data save.

Rorona is basically Mana Khemia without a decent combat system and WAAAAY more emphasis on Alchemy. It's more like Harvest Moon than a regular RPG and most people would be bored of it quickly, but it's addictive in its own way.

Go buy Mana Khemia for $20 new or less and see if you like the alchemy aspect of it, imo. Haven't played the other Atelier games so I can't compare it to them, and there's not much else that plays like these games, but I don't see any ways Rorona's better than Mana Khemia yet except better alchemy!

You can teach Morrigan some heals (it's highly recommended btw), but she will always be stuck with the crappy Shapeshifter specialisation, while Wynne starts with the much better Spirit Healer specialisation.

Shapeshifter's bad? >_> it seems kinda neat, though defeats the purpose of spellcasting and I haven't used it except in the Rift place when she was solo at Redcliffe. I'm mostly stacking Ice spells on her now.

Also holy crap what you can be gay with the elf assassin guy I just got?! At least Alistair doesn't want me... ;__;

Yep! Kind of pain but oh well. They fixed it for AT3, at least.

And yeah, combat in Rorona sucks now and forever. The alchemy aspect is better than MK if only because every item of the same type isn't the exactly same. Game's kind of ugly too since it's Gust's first stab at the PS3. Totori is supposed to much improved on all fronts. Coming this fall!

Just wait til you get do DA 2 when all four romancable party members are available to both male and female players. As opposed to DA, where only three are (two bi, two straight, both having one of each gender).

I always did elves, ashes, mages and dwarves.

Ashes can get boring but it's nothing compared to mages and dwarves. Mages is too long and nothing happens and dwarves is hey I've been to this cave before oh no wait I have to fight Deepstalkers for the 4515414515845147847847845541846541561451548484848th time so I guess it's new but I couldn't make out the difference BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS THE SAME. It lasts forever as well.

Endgame is pretty neat, though I have to say (and I'm in the minority) I probably liked DAII more IN HINDSIGHT. DA:O topped my favourite games of all times lists when I finished it(now I'm more Mass Effect 2) but when I was replaying it I wanted to kill myself during those parts of the game. Just sayin'.

*Dragon Age spoilers*

Apparently repeatedly screaming "BUT THY CLANSMEN ARE DYING" while killing their Keeper still gets you to side with the elves, huh. If I had sided with the werewolves, could I have recruited them or is it just the races with the treaties that can be recruited?

Also, Alistair rep points up. Thought he was a Lawful idiot, but he actually approved of killing the Keeper and sided with the werewolves in the end.

Also... is the Urn missable if I don't look for it?

Rorona can be addicting, but it is solely about alchemy. Battles are an afterthought, there's no villian (outside of a doofus politician), and it certainly follows the "low budget" vibe most niche Japanese games of the genre hit. It looks like a mid-generation PS2 game (despite being on PS3).

Ass Creed 1 is a borefest. Enjoy doing the same three quests over and over again.

The Urn is one of the main quests, so no. And yes, you could've gotten werewolves; three of the main quests can result in different armies depending on how you resolve them.

I don't think the Urn is skippable as Eamon gets pretty important.

Also yes there are several outcomes with Elves and Werewolves. Though to side with the Werewolves you need a pretty big Coercion stat and pick the evil option. Because siding with Werewolves needs something pretty evil.

There is one accepted "perfect" path and then several inbetween, with siding with Werewolves viewed as the evil option at that.

The other paths don't have this by the way, they're more purely do the evil thing or do the good thing.

Oh, I saw it and could have passed it probably. The only Persuade option I've failed so far in the game was telling the tree I was a werewolf, and I have a feeling that he could see through that no matter what. <_< Rogue with rank 3 persuade skill and lotsa cunning ftw

For DA:O

Warden's Keep (gives you unlimited storage and potential to the best sword in the game, plotwise it just gives backstory)
Stone Golem (best helmet in the game, cool party member no real plot)
Lost at Ostagar (neat, but kinda boring and disappointing)
Leliana's Song (backstory)
Golems at Amgarrak (hard no real story)
Morrigan's blablabla (endgame stuff, can be important storywise)

And then there's also Darkspawn Chronicles but that one sucks, and if you count Awakenings as DLC (it's an expansion pack) I'd get that cause well it's an expansion.
