It's not that the entirety of B8 chased her away, but some users, led by Ulti, definitely tried to make her leave the board and succeeded.

LMS hasn't either, really, but people are starting to get sick of the guy. It happens. People don't need to be outright offensive to be annoying and disliked.

Also, kawaii showed her true personality beyond the cute emotes and the bumps a couple of times and it was a little ugly.

LMS doesn't really do anything "offensive." He's just annoying sometimes because he seemingly has no opinions of his own, resorting to what video game publications, websites, and lists have to say about things.

And he's played like 10 games, so he has to borrow a lot of opinions, I guess.

kawaii sent me an email following her departure that I forwarded to Ulti, so he can probably give you the exact date she left, but I'm pretty sure she left in November of '04. She still lurks here under alts. Mostly during contest season, but I'm sure she follows save my contests as well.

her stated reason for leaving, btw, was because some of her favourite users were leaving -- myself, Steiner, and someone else (maybe Alanna) -- and she didn't want to be stuck on a board where most of the visitors disliked her for bumping old topics.

she had some other social issues she alluded to in the e-mail she sent me that certainly contributed to leaving, such as getting too invested in a message board while leaving her real life social network aside. hope she's worked that stuff out.

It wasn't even that big of a deal, people just let her know that they thought her posting habits were really annoying and then she left. People on this board have got it much worse from a way larger pool of users without ever thinking about leaving.

I'd say it was a bit of both, as much as my tendency has always been to white knight for her. A decently sized contingent was pretty jerkish to her right before she left, for no reason I could ever place, but she also seemed a bit thin-skinned and defensive, especially once she actually started getting negative reactions, and she left very quickly after the board turned heel on her.

I miss her ;.;

Completely agree with Tom. From what I remember it certainly wasn't a case of "hey we just told her nicely that we didn't like her bumping and then she left geez what" - her detractors were a lot more mean spirited than that - but yeah, she was too thin-skinned as well.
