My laptop frequently over heats and shuts down. I took part of the bottom off to look inside at the fan and didn't see any damage or a large amount of dust so I'm not really sure what the deal is. Can anyone recommend a place to get it looked at? I bought it off amazon so I can't take it to the place where I bought it. It's a little over 2 years old and other than the over heating runs fine.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what you did about it. Sometimes it goes for hours without over heating and other times it's like an hour and boom it shuts down. Really annoying.

Would one of those lap cooling pads work?

My laptop kept overheating, but that is because it had a faulty fan that stopped working. If your fan is working, I dunno what to tell you.

Alright, cooling pad it is then. Can anyone recommend a decent one? I know I've heard some of them work pretty well and others kind of suck.
