First upgrade makes bone hard as **** to break. Dude on the top right has fragile as sin bones.

Second upgrade fix scares. Dude on bottom right has a huge ass scar on the face.

The fact that he literally never moves from his chair might have been a tipoff

My favorite ME picture has the stat distribution / level up screens from the first two games side by side, along with mockup of the same from ME3 with just an "auto-level up" button.

He moves from his chair plenty in cutscenes and such. None of the other characters move from their respective spots on the Normandy either. So Joker never leaving his chair is not even close to being a tipoff.

I never went that deep into conversation with him in the first game. And then in the few cutscenes you see him up in the second game, I don't think I ever noticed him limping.

Well obviously it's not impossible, because I missed it. Like I said, the only time I ever noticed him limping was during the attack, and I thought he just got injured somehow. I obviously didn't give it much thought!
