Oh, all it takes is to tell you that you are wrong and you'll shut up?

GOOD NEWS, EVERYONE!

It takes obvious lying about your personal life for me to realize that you are only trolling, thus making arguments with you entirely pointless.

Right, I'm such a horrible person that I would lie about my wife suffering from IC for almost her entire 30 years alive. She was never hospitazlied and went through surgery to make things easier on her. We dind't have an OBGYN appointment yesterday morning. We haven't been trying to get pregnant for almost a year.

Clearly I hate you so much that I just want to troll you. Do you realize how dumb that sounds?

I have experience with this. I have been dealing with it for a long time, my wife has been on multiple medications and has had various proceedures. I've spent more money on her medical bills in the last 7 years than I have on anything else.

I am speaking to you as an adult with knowledge of what you are speaking of. You don't want to believe me? You want to assume I am just trolling you? Fine, thats fine.

You are the one that has to live with this, not me.

You posted a topic about a real life issue but you didn't want anyone to chime in with real life experience? Then go away.

If this is true then you would know that every case is different. The fact that your wife required surgery for her IC only further proves my point that my girlfriend cannot handle pregnancy.

If she got that procedure (I know which one you are talking about), then yeah maybe she could carry the child. But the fact is that she didn't get the surgery, and now it's obviously too late.

Multiple doctors have told her that the next 9 months will be miserable for her because of her disease. Sure that doesn't make me feel absolved of any guilt, but I would appreciate not being judged for making a decision to spare her torture.

It sucks that your girlfriend and yourself are in that situation, but if she has such a serious condition that pregnancy is so dangerous to her then she should be on birth control for both the well being of you and herself. But I wish you both well in the future.

Your trolling is ridiculous to the point that its almost rage-inducing most of the time. But I'm man enough to admit when I've been trolled and move on from it, no harm done because this is the damn internet anyone who cares THAT much about what's said on a message board has problems.

Man. This topic.

I'm just going to quote smitelf because she said it better than I would.

I'm sorry that you and your girlfriend are going through a hard time now. It's great that you're being supportive of her choice even if you don't wholeheartedly agree. It sounds like you are doing the best you possibly can in an unfortunate situation, which is all anyone can do. Yeah, you made a big mistake not using a condom, but at least it's a mistake you aren't likely to repeat. I hope this situation turns out as well as it possibly can in the circumstances.

And that sucks about your aunt, too :(

Yes, cases do vary in severity. But you should know that over 80% of all women suffer from IC. It is not rare, your g/f is not a special case. Also if IC is this big of an issue for her maybe she should look into drinking a little less. Alcohol is a pretty big catalyst and if she is getting drunk enough to not care if she gets pregnant then its no wonder she has such crippling pain from it.

80% of women do not have IC. The number is closer to 12% according to wikipedia (and that's just "symptoms")

And she drinks like once every other month due to the flares. We rarely have sex, and it takes her being super wasted to actually enjoy it 90% of the time anymore.

So her life completely sucks because of the disease.... How did your wife's surgery help? We have been looking into it as an option for awhile now.

lolz.

With the same woman for 10 years and married for 6. We are responsible adults and she is on Birth Control and will stay on Birth Control till we decide to bring a child into this world.

But whatever makes you feel better about your poor choices in life.

When you get older and you get married and want to have kids, Tim, you'll know that "Trying to get pregnant" does not always mean having sex and trying to physically impregnate a woman. Birth Control is not just a means of preventing my wife from getting pregnant there are also medically necessary reasons she is on it. So we have been doing a lot of things with doctors before she gets off the pill completely.

You want to call me out, do some research first.

Lets agree to disagree on the statistics.

I was mistaken. My wife was originally diagnosed with endometriosis. She had surgey to remove a plum sized cyst on her ovary. IC often goes misdiagnosed for endometriosis. After the surgery when she was still experiencing a lot of pain it became clear to the doctors that it was infact IC. She has had pretty good results with Elmiron. I do not know what your g/f is on but perhaps you want to look into it.

From what you explain of the sex and the drinking and what nots there is no doubt that its IC (not that i think you are lying about her condition). I am sorry for what she is going through.

i know what i'm talking about. i know there are other uses for birth control.

however, you also said you have sex on a regular basis.

and in two separate posts, you said you're trying to get pregnant and that you haven't yet decided to bring a child into the world

and now your wife has IC all of a sudden even though we've been discussing it for 200 posts and you never mentioned it

and then sephy called you out so now she has endometriosis

Yes, I have sex regularly, my wife has her IC under control with proper diet and medication

Yes, you are correct we have not officially decided yet if bringing a child into this world is the right decision and at the same time we are taking all the steps towards making sure she is physically prepared to carry a child.

Yes, my wife has IC

Sephy didn't call me out on anything and I said the doctors thought she had endometriosis and removed a giant cyst because of that diagnosis and then the doctors realized she in fact has IC and not endometriosis. As i said, Interstitial Cystitis often goes misdiagnosed.

Boy, it was fun recapping everything I've done in this topic just so i could point out how bad you are at reading.

I apologize for thinking that you were lying, but as Tim stated there were just a lot of inconsistencies with what you were saying. But you seem to be telling the truth.

Anyway, she is currently on Elmiron, which helps with the flaring, but not the side effects of IC. The IC went untreated for a long time, so she also wound up developing vulvodynia, which is why she needs the xanax and why sex is painful for her.

Did your wife have any surgery to repair the IC? I know it's experimental, but I have heard of good results.

This is not "trying to get pregnant." It's only "trying to get pregnant" if, you know, you actually want to get pregnant.

I'm guessing you just misspoke in your haste to make snide remarks, instead of randomly making stuff up about your personal life, but yeah.

You really don't have any reason to apologize, i was trolling you before I actually took the topic seriously. You had every reason to assume I was lying to you. Tim is just being a [insert any word that he might mark me for here].

My wife went through two months of weekly Biofeedback treatments (while the insurance company would still pay for it) to help her with relaxing the pelvic floor muscles in hopes to help eleviate some of the pain. She said it was helping but it apparently insanely expensive. When she was at her worst we couldn't have sex (happy Tim?). Even the slighest bit of penetration was excruciating for her. Things have gotten much better. We haven't done any surgery for the IC because she has managed to make it livable, it does sound like your g/f is much worse off thought and maybe surgery would be the best bet. I can only imagine how horrible the pain will be for the actual process of the abortion. (my experience with abortions is baby lion cubs learning how in South park Country Critter Chistmas, I'm assuming they have to go in).
