I am wondering what would happen in a case like this. if you take someone into a future caused by an event and leave them there. Then you change it so the event never happens. What would happen to the person you left in the future

Depends on what version of time travel you suscribe to. In general though, life in the core timeline proceeds as it would normally post-event change, except the person isn't there.

apha timeline person trapped in a doomed alternate timeline?
obviously that person was meant to travel to that doomed timeline anyway, meaning he was never really an alpha timeline member. don't feel too bad, you're just doing what you were supposed to.

Doesn't work that way. If there's multiple timelines, the future is not set in stone, that's pretty much the point of branched, non-stable time travel. Choice matters, which means you left a person in a world that will never come to pass, ensuring that their life post-trip will never come to pass either.

The thing is that an "alpha timeline" is actually a simplification of a very tough to comprehend and explain concept, which is the basis of forms of time travel that aren't stable loops. The alpha timeline is, put simply, whatever timeline is most current when it comes to changes made through time traveling. If you cause a change that alters history, history both continues as before AND changes, *because the alpha timeline is a brand new timeline created by your actions*. When you travel through time back to your time, you're not going back to your own time, in truth. You're going back to a new time. Paradoxes *can't* form, and decisions cannot threaten the existence of an Alpha timeline!

time doesn't actually exist and is just a mechanism that humans have invented to simplify the nature of reality to a point that they can understand. you need to understand this much in order to "time travel" to begin with however
