gibbogame David Gibson Iwata taking responsibility for 3ds,, taking 50% salary cut and other execs 30% cut, reduced bonuses too 53 minutes ago
No matter your feelings on Nintendo, Iwata is still that dude. He's so self-aware of his own failings, and he will let everyone know he's taking steps to correct it.

It will launch for $350 with some Wii Sports s***. I bet my life on it. Damn, that KoolAid guy is awesome - NGamer64
It's a nice gesture, but Iwata's salary is only about $700,000 a year. It's not going to do much to drastically alter their operating costs, but Iwata's a cool dude for it all the same.

Like I said. He might make more in bonuses, but I'm not even sure about that. It's just a different culture in Japan and I think the idea of any exec making like $25 million a year would be seen as insulting by everyone, no matter their position on the corporate ladder.

Yep. Japan is a lot different from America in that regard. Iwata does come away better with bonuses (about $2 million last year), but that's nothing compared to his American counterparts.

Daaaaaaaaaamn
Yamauchi probably called up Iwata and was like, "WTF MAN!?"
