Tried to buy Mass Effect 2 on PSN (since it comes with the video of Mass Effect 1 and you get to make the decisions), and I don't have enough room on my original 60GB backwards compatible system. Gotta, like, go through all my stuff and delete stuff. Jeez.

I'll probably run into this problem soon enough with my 60gb BC PS3 as well. Fortunately I don't really buy many games through PSN (not many JRPGs go up on there for whatever reason), so hopefully it won't happen too soon!

my 120 is almost maxed out, but I save space by deleting installs once I'm done with a game

my original 60GB backwards compatible system

Pretty sure that the issue is this more than the PS3.

My 250 GB is fine!

I guess I should delete the Game Installs after I finish the games, too. Probably would be easier. I usually only play games I buy in person, too, but the Mass Effect 2 PSN download was a decent price (not much more than Amazon), and it came with the video from Mass Effect 1 to make decisions that affect Mass Effect 2, so I wanted it.

You can keep memory card saves even if you delete the installation data, right? So, if I ever re-install, my saves are right there. Yeah?

Is that BC built into the HD?

If you put a new HD in a BC PS3, would you lose it?

I think you can back them up? I actually have no idea where they save to.

Eh, I don't want to spend the money on a new hard drive. I typically play games for the story and then don't play anymore, so simply deleting the game install makes sense to me. Only online games and multiplayer stuff, I'd leave in. Or Metal Gear.

If I can preserve my saved data (which takes up very little space) when I delete the humongous game installs, then it's totally worth the few minutes to reinstall games.
