Short preview on Chapter 13!
Chris and Crimson are about to leave Efortsatak, but Chris asks SEP to come along. What will he do? They drive further towards Crimson's hometown, but they got to make one more stop to get some fuel. This might not turn out to be a quick stop though.

Chapter 13 – The Existence of Freedom. A New Journey can begin!

”SEP, I'll ask you one final time. Will you join my team?” Chris asked.
What's with this guy!? SEP thought. I've explained everything to him. Besides, I've already declined that stupid request twice!

...He just doesn't give up.

“I'm gonna slaughter every last one of you!”
“To survive, I have to kill every possible threat!”
“There's no such thing as freedom in this world. It's a hopeless dream. You can't trust anyone. You just have to make it through the day by yourself.”

All these years, I've survived by myself. No one has ever helped me out. I've been stealing food, training hard so I could defend myself. A life is not a great gift. It is worthless.

...That's what I've always believed. Nobody I've ever met has cared about anyone but themselves. All those battles I've been through. Why should this guy be any different? I can't trust him.

Obviously.

“Chris, how many times do I have to tell you?” SEP asked. “I don't wa-” SEP stopped speaking. A surprised look crossed his face.
“Hmm?” Chris said.
He didn't kill him! He said he didn't kill that damn major! SEP rushed towards Catastrophy's unconscious body.
“Hey! I said you can't kill him!” Chris yelled and ran after him.
SEP turned Catastrophy around on his back and listened to his heartbeat.
“Wait... what the hell are you doing?” Chris asked.

It's true! SEP thought, and stood up. He really didn't kill him. Even after this damn major almost killed both of us.

I didn't think about this at first. Could he really be serious about that freedom stuff or whatever? SEP stood still for a moment. He looked up at the sky. Freedom, eh. Does such a thing really exist? I wont believe it until I see it... but if there's just the smallest chance of it, then isn't that what I should aim for? This guy... he's got no one with him and he's young. Not someone anybody would think has a chance of taking down the WR. But... he's got some strength, and a strong will. I have to give that to him. At this point I don't care about taking chances. SEP turned around and looked at Chris.

“I don't have all day.” Chris said, sounding impatient.
“Then let's hurry the hell out of here... leader!” SEP said, and grinned.
“Aww yeah!” Chris said. “Don't call me leader though. We're equal here.”
SEP walked back to Chris and Crimson. “Alright. So how are you getting around?” SEP asked.
“We're using Crimson's car for now.” Chris said. “Oh yeah, it's alright if he comes along, right Crimson?”
“You're asking me now!?” Crimson yelled.
“So it's a yes then!” Chris said and started to run away from the chaotic scene of the battle.
“What!? I haven't answered yet! Chris! It's not even that direction!” Crimson yelled, and went after him.
This guy... he really is...um... interesting. Yeah. SEP thought. Then he ran after Chris as well.

After explaining their current situation to SEP as well as treating everyone's wounds, they continued towards Crimson's hometown in her car.
“So basically, we'll have no car after we get to her place.” SEP said.
“Yes, that was the deal I made with Chris. We'll stop by the next town though. I need fuel.” Crimson said.
“So what do we do after that?” SEP asked Chris.
“We beat the hell out of that Pj and get his ride!” Chris said, sounding excited.
“Really?” SEP said. He looked disappointed. “That's your plan...”
“You know Chris, you just had trouble beating a Major. That guy is a general, you know.” Crimson said. “Besides, you'd have to walk to even find him in the first place.”
“Don't worry, we can beat him together!” Chris said, optimistic.
“Actually Chris, he has a twin brother who's also a general, you'd have to deal with him as well.” Crimson told him.
“No problem. We're two now!” Chris said, sounding really happy. “By the way, being twins, does that mean you get to have the same special ability?”
“If we're talking about monozygotic twins, then yes.” Crimson said.
“What does that mean?” Chris asked.
“That they're identical you dumbass.” SEP answered.
“So they look completely alike then?” Chris asked.
“Well they do look quite similar.” Crimson said. Then she tried to explain. “It really means that they developed from one zygote, which split, and then formed two-”
“Yeah whatever. I don't get it.” Chris said.

“You obviously don't care either.” Crimson mumbled, annoyed.
“Say, that twin of his. What's his name?” SEP asked.
“You don't know him? Don't tell me you haven't heard about that perverted freak. I mean he's a general as well.” Crimson said.
“I don't follow what's going on, and that guy didn't attack my town.” SEP explained.
“I see.” Crimson said. “Well he's called-”
“Oh look, there's a town ahead!” Chris yelled, interrupting.
“Stop interrupting me Chris!” Crimson said.
“About time.” SEP said. “I'm really hungry.”
“Do you even care!?” Crimson yelled.
They parked outside the town and got out.

“It's pretty late. You can't be sure anything is open.” Crimson said.
“I just need some meat and some booze.” SEP said. “If this place can't provide that 24 hours a day, then they can't call themselves a real town.”
“Yeah, but it's not really a big town.” Crimson said.
“We should just stay for the night.” Chris suggested. “Anywhere is better to sleep than your car.”
“Could you be less grateful?!” Crimson yelled.

Little did they know, eyes were following them. They had been spotted from a nearby cave by some mysterious people.

“Hey, come look at this. Some people just entered town. I'm pretty sure they're the ones from those 'breaking news' we saw earlier. You know, the nobodies that defeated the Major.”
“Fellow revolutionaries then. They must be in pretty bad shape.”
“Yeah, no kidding. They got bandages all over them.”
“Don't mind them. Besides, this article about us is more interesting. Look at the headline. They have no clue.”
“Yeah, we're almost clear. 'Revolutionary duo Regaro Ukiera and Jeff Zero nowhere to be found.' They're so stupid.” Jeff laughed.
Regaro chuckled along with him, pointing out another part of the article. “It says that we are 'presumed dead' after our last clash with the WR.”
“We sure did a nice job.” Jeff said. “Now lets get back to work.”
