We're getting to the point where the forgettable Cook Islanders are going to start falling, and that ball starts rolling with Brad.

I don't even remember any of the stuff you just mentioned about him. Yeah, he was boring. But that whole season was too.

I know some of you are gonna be kicking and screaming that I placed Brenda too low

You put her way higher than I would have! I didn't like her in Nicaragua at all. But she's someone who I think could be interesting in another season, so I'm not too upset about her return

Guatemala is a season that I remember for its huge personalities. I can't deny that, whether I like or dislike them, 17 of the 18 people were filled to the brim with personality. Brianna was the one dud.

Huh? Morgan? Brooke? Amy? Blake? Jim? I don't remember anything those people did. Guatemala is on a low tier for me, because of how lame the cast was. Probably 1 of maybe 2 seasons without anyone in my Top 50, if I were to guess.

Pre-season Jay was my least-favorite. He just seemed like a boring tool. But as the season got started he really started to grow on me. He seemed like he had a strategic head on his shoulders and wasn't just blindly following one alliance, and he was one of the two guys post-merge who was seriously willing to work with the women.

Considering his fate, and that this is a modern season, I'm surprised he got the edit he did. He was shown so positively and quite significantly early on. I really wouldn't have expected him to go out just like that with all they had built on him. I mean, it's good that they did this, because newer seasons really need to develop everyone. But then again, One World did a great job with its pre-merge.

310. Alicia Calaway (All-Stars, 7th place)

external image

Alicia was remembered for being b****y in Australia, but it was a fun b****y, a la Sue Hawk. In All-Stars, she was still b****y, but it was just more unpleasant than it was fun. She didn't have any of those great moments that she had the first time ("I will ALWAYS wave my finger in your face!"), she was extremely spiteful, and she just genuinely seemed like she wasn't happy being there. And the people there really didn't like her like they did the first time, resulting in her winning the superlative "Least Deserving to Be an All-Star" (which was bulls*** since Amber and Jenna were still in the game at the time), and being the first to be voted off when the Chapera Six had to eat one of their own. She was just really unlikable this season, but at least she wasn't all up in our faces about it like some other unlikable returning players have been, so I have forgiveness for her for that.

309. Ashlee Ashby (Palau, 17th place)

external image

Ashlee has a pretty cool sounding name, with the first syllables of both her first and last name being the same, and the second syllables rhyming. Other than that she really didn't do much of anything at all. She was practically invisible for both of her episodes other than not wanting to eat with the rest of the group, and seemed like a totally random boot, especially since Kim should have been the obvious target. So I really don't care for her much either way.

308. Linda Spencer (Africa, 13th place)

external image

There are two things that I really remember about Linda. The first is that she would never shut up about "Mother Africa" and how she felt that nobody else appreciated the fact that they were in Africa, which got kind of annoying. The second is that she told Lindsey that her mother didn't hug her enough when she was younger, which was pretty uncalled-for, but seeing as it was Lindsey, it doesn't bother be too much. Linda ranks higher than I would have ranked her in the past because over the years I've come to appreciate the fact that she was a hell of a lot better than some of the others on her tribe (cough Brandon and Lindsey), and was kind of a nice reprieve from the awful Mallrats alliance, even if she herself was a bit annoying.

307. Mike Chiesl (Redemption Island, 6th place)

external image

Mike seemed pretty likable in the first couple episodes, being a war hero and just being an all-around nice guy. Unfortunately after this he just became the season's narrator and it became pretty apparent that he wasn't going to have very much to do with the overall story. And in fact, for the second half of the game all he did to stay alive was win (or even just not come in last) in Redemption Island duels, and he really didn't matter that much, and didn't even come back into the game. The moment that really kills him is when he wins the loved ones duel and has a choice - he gets to see his loved one, Matt and Ralph (the other two on Redemption Island) get to see their loved ones, or Rob and his Zombies get to see their loved ones. So what does he pick? He gives the loved ones visit to the very people who systematically took out his alliance and are obviously going to continue to dominate the game. I would have been okay with either of the other two choices, but this really just made me let out a big WTF to him.

306. Mike Borassi (Samoa, 19th place)

external image

There are plenty of reasons to hate Borassi. First off, he starts out his edit 10 minutes into the season by expressing his shock at Jaison's swimming abilities by saying that, "Afro Americans are not known to be swimmers." Yeah, we all know that, and Jaison himself had even said it going into the challenge, but it really sounded kinda racist the way Mike said it. Then of course he appeared totally useless in the challenges, staring off into space making the puzzle, and of course because Russell was all "ZOMG gotta start betraying people on day 1!" he wasn't the first one voted out, which ended up screwing over the tribe because he was medivac'd the next episode (after bragging about wanting to "RUMBLE!" in the challenge), and, in a bulls*** executive call, they still had to go to tribal and vote out another person, even though he was clearly going home that night. And this is even worse considering the fact that he was originally cast for Tocantins but was pulled last minute due to (surprise surprise) medical reasons, but they decided that an overweight, old man could hack it in an even worse environment a few months later. But I do have to say that for all these things, Borassi actually seemed like a pretty cool and fun guy. Even if he didn't come through with it, he had a ton of excitement for the challenges and it would have been interesting to have seen him get further.

305. A returning player who was the first person voted out of their tribe
304. A female first boot
303. Someone who got ridiculously screwed over by a bulls*** twist

She was remembered for 1 scene in Australia, which was enough to unjustly get her on All-Stars. I mean, it was a great scene, and is still one of the most well known Survivor moments. I guess with something like that, it meant she had potential to replicated it, and they were hoping for that.

And the people there really didn't like her like they did the first time, resulting in her winning the superlative "Least Deserving to Be an All-Star" (which was bulls*** since Amber and Jenna were still in the game at the time)

Replace Jenna with Shii-Ann.

But you can't fail to mention that she has probably one of top 3 largest racks in Survivor history! I'm not sure who would actually beat her? Maybe the other Ashley from China, who definitely has horrible implants.

I think I feel the same. It's been a while since I've seen Africa, but I have seen it about 3 times. I remember rooting for Linda for the same reason, because the other alliance was just awful. But on rewatches, I kind of don't really care for her as much, and realized it was just because the others sucked that much. Carl was my favorite on that whole tribe, which isn't really saying much. Africa was the first season where someone from my favorite tribe (during the original run of the season anyway) actually won.

That was probably the only thing he did all season that I liked. I mean, you can be bitter at the people who voted you out, and it wasn't even for personal reasons, it was just because he was on the other tribe. Or you can try to spread around as much joy as you can, by giving the most people the reward. I liked that decision.

But good low ranking for Mike. I never liked him, and his face is annoying looking too.

I agree. I enjoyed his few scenes on the rewatch. I can see why people wouldn't like him though. He seems to have a very dry sense of humor and says exactly what he thinks even if it's not PC. That's respectable, and he seems like an interesting dude.

305. Jessica "Sugar" Kiper (Heroes vs. Villains, 20th place)

external image

When the theme of Heroes vs. Villains was first conceived, even before it was officially leaked, I don't think anybody doubted that Sugar was going to be on it. She was a super sweetheart and a massive fan-favorite. And then the show started and the lock was confirmed. Now, Sugar was obviously going through... stuff... when she went on Heroes vs. Villains, so I try not to be as tough on her as I should/want to be. But that doesn't change the fact that she was pretty terrible. She got off to a great start, giving the double flip-off after scoring a point topless, and I thought I was going to be rooting for her, but then she went downhill when she started annoying people at night, especially Colby. Then as soon as the Heroes lost a challenge, she broke her promise that she wasn't going to cry as much this season by crying harder than ever. So yeah, she gets a low placement.

304. Debb Eaton (The Australian Outback, 16th place)

external image

Two first boots back-to-back, and it's finally Debb's turn to show up. Debb was kinda lame on the show, but she did have a couple of good moments, like the "rawks" quote. But other than that she was a fairly obvious and standard first boot that should have gone down as a fairly forgettable contestant. Unfortunately she is remembered these days because Sucksters found out some.... incriminating details.... about her personal life, and the entire internet has basically harassed her about it ever since, so I do feel bad for her in that regard.

303. Sylvia Kwan (Fiji, 17th place)

external image

Sylvia is another one that I feel I may be putting a bit too low simply due to the fact that I try to watch Fiji as little as possible (though I'll definitely be getting it when it comes out on DVD later this year for completion's sake). I can definitely see her rising on this list upon a close rewatch. But I do remember her being a bit... odd, and she looked pretty goofy as well. But I totally feel bad for the fact that she's definitely top 5 in the category of "Most Screwed-Over Players Ever." She singlehandedly built the Haves camp, and because the tribe recognized this, she unwittingly became the one person guaranteed to be on the Have Nots tribe. Which was complete bulls***.

302. Cindy Hall (Guatemala, 5th place)

external image

Cindy was fairly boring for most of Guatemala, but she certainly wasn't an unlikable, negative force like some of the people were, so I was really forgiving of her for that. She pretty much just latched onto Judd and let his being in with the others carry her to the top six. And along the way she had a few interesting things to say and it was fun to watch her interact with the animals. But then her boot episode came and suddenly she won a car and had the option to keep it for herself or give one to each of the other remaining Survivors. Of course she kept it for herself. I would have too. But then suddenly she became obsessed with the fact that she had a new car and everyone else didn't and suddenly she emerged as this annoying, negative black mark on the edit. And that really brings her down on this list. Oh and I've heard a small, probably not credible rumor that she and her twin sister are on the next season of The Amazing Race. Again, probably not true, but it's something I've heard thrown around.

301. Erin Collins (Thailand, 9th place)

external image

Erin was the first person ever to make the jury without making the merge, although this is often overlooked because she made the fake merge. Actually, a lot of things are often overlooked about Erin, such as... is everything an option? I really don't remember anything Erin did. For some reason she was the least-liked person in her alliance (which is odd considering Penny was in it). She was okay in the challenges, and was kind of smart strategically, but I can't really put a finger on her personality. I think the thing that I most remember her for is that, leave it to Sucksters to point out that she appears to have an Adam's apple, earning her the nickname "Aaron" from them. And for being pretty unmemorable, Erin becomes the last person to not make my top 300.

300. Did not have a confessional in their boot episode
299. Has become somewhat of a running joke among the Survivor community
298. Began the game on an "older" tribe on a season split by age
297. Began the game on a "younger" tribe on the same season

300. Rebecca Borman (Cook Islands, 11th place)

external image

Rebecca was okay for the first few episodes. Yeah it kinda sucked that she was the driving force behind getting Sekou out in the first episode, but I liked everyone on that tribe so there was no winning solution for me. But she seemed pretty decent in challenges and a likable person overall. Then she just gradually faded from the edit, and when she was shown, it was for negative things, like sucking at swimming challenges and not doing much around camp. She was so ignored later on that her last confessional was three episodes before her boot episode, and, as a result of the bottle twist, she didn't even get her final words aired. So I feel bad for her that she got really screwed over by the edit, but the fact remains that, entertainment-wise, she was fairly useless. Still, the fact that she wasn't just a completely miserable human being like most of the people already listed is enough to get her (just barely) into my top 300.

299. Mary Sartain (Fans vs. Favorites, 19th place)

external image

When it comes to laughable edits, you don't get much worse than Mary. Only two people in Survivor history have gotten an INV edgic rating in the first episode and been eliminated in episode 2, and Mary is one of them (the other, for the record, is Kel from Australia). And while this doesn't seem too bad considering Mary was pretty boring and insignificant, it's what they chose to do with it that makes it hilarious. Most of Mary's exposure in her boot episode came from other people talking about her, and it was mostly just passive things, even Kathy remarked, "Who is Mary?" when Joel suggested that they vote her out. And then she got voted out and in the next episode, when Jeff announces to the Favorites that, "Mary [was] voted out at the last tribal council," Eliza even remarks, "Who was Mary?" And Sucks has turned this invisibility into a running joke. And even I think it's pretty funny. As you can see, I put her over most of the other people famous for their incredibly invisible. But the point stands that she herself didn't do too much, so I can't put her much higher.

298. Melinda Hyder (Exile Island, 15th place)

external image

Okay, let me get this out of the way first - when we first saw Melinda on screen, did anyone else immediately thing that they had brought back Morgan from the previous season except that she had gained about 100 pounds? Seriously, other than the obvious weight difference, these two look very similar. Other than that, Melinda is one of the two most forgettable people from Exile Island (and yes, the other is coming up next). She was booted in the second episode, and both tribes she was on had a ton of personality coming from every other member, so she was pretty much faded into the background. All I really remember her for is for saying "There are a hundred reasons to keep Tina." I do respect, however, that she didn't just lay down and die when things looked hopeless for her. She saw an opportunity (in this case Shane wanting to quit) and tried to go for it, but unfortunately it didn't work out for her. Still, she was pretty forgettable in a season filled with huge personalities.

297. Nick Stanbury (Exile Island, 10th place)

external image

Nick is the other extremely forgettable person from Exile Island. So forgettable, in fact, then when I realized that he had a confessional in every single episode through his boot episode, I was utterly shocked. There's not much that he did that makes me remember him, although I do remember him being truly amazed that Dan had actually been into space rather than just working at NASA, and I remember him trying his hardest to stay in when all looked hopeless for him at the merge, even if, like Melinda, it didn't work. Nick and Melinda are so similar in their edits that it almost came down to a coin toss as to who got higher. In the end I went with Nick, only because I actually do remember a few more specific moments about him due to him lasting longer.

296. Michelle Tesauro (Peal Islands, 14th place)

external image

I feel kinda bad for Michelle's placement (within the season, not as a ranking), because it makes her look like she didn't last as long as she actually did, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles I guess, and a necessary evil when you have a twist of that caliber. That being said, Michelle didn't really do to much for me within the game itself. She was pretty cute and spunky, but she just seemed more of Burton's lackey than anything else. I did like her on the Outcasts tribe, but not quite enough to want her back in.

Congrats to Slaps on his 5 for 5 day.
