Well Venomoth deserved it much more than favorites-killer Bidoof.

I mean it would've been okay had it been Charizard, Dragonite or even Raichu I mean something cool NO BIDOOF.

Venomoth is pretty bland... Another one of those pokémon I never got the cult love for, but I'd be lying if I said I actually disliked it.

Quite good! I'm with MSG on Venomoth, and Bidoof definitely has no place there. Charizard and Dragonite making it is awesome, glad Latias got some love this time, and Zapdos is a good winner. Really like Pidgeot, Bulba's good. Indifferent to Lanturn and Raichu.

Very solid list.

1. Gardevoir - 8/10 - played with, enjoyed.
2. Dragonair - 7.5/10 - Not as good as Dragonite but still
3. Lapras - 7/10 - never quite loved it as much as some, but it's decently cool
4. Charizard - 10/10 - the king.
5. Ivysaur - 8/10 - the worst of the first 9, but workable
6. Wartortle - 8.5/10 - great Poke
7. Krookodile - 10/10 - great
8. Mandibuzz - 6/10 - ehhh
9. Gengar - Destiny! - 9.5/10
10. Omastar - 7/10 - sure

An ideal list for me would have like 3/4 Gen 1, 3 Gen 5, mixed whatever else.

Cream of the crop from each of course. 7 from one gen is kinda >__________>

Specially if I can do with 3 of them. Which three? Wouldn't yoooou like to know! :P

variety is not all members of the same line making it, similar designs (e.g. all monkeys, all pikachu clones) or even all different typings. generational divides and biases are unfounded since every gen has its good and bad.

Well that's kinda silly.

The odds of even three of Emolga, Pikachu, Raichu, Plusle, Pachirisu and Minun making it in are phenominally low while it's not uncommon for 5-7 first gen pokémon to come out of top every time. By your standards every one of these lists would have "variety". Iono, maybe it's because most of my favorites are spread about evenly across the generations (with slightly higher concentration in the first and fifth gens) I think a list that reflects that spread is automatically better.

I'm just saying there's more tying factors Pokemon have than the generation they're from. I never even really thought of it in generational terms until recently when people kept mentioning it. If I like something, I'll like it regardless of when it came out. One gen can be better than another because it has more stuff you like but not solely because it is x Gen which is what I'm getting a lot of times.
