On a phone right now, so I'll instead take the time to talk a little about a lesser known artist "Aly Fell" who wrote The Shadow Glass. Fantastic little book. I have all 6 issues and the graphic novel. The art is seriously amazing.

besides the Archie reboot, I haven't really followed comics in a while.

but The Fix and Four Kids Walk Into a Bank are pretty good, if you like dark comedy/ crime-dramas.

I also read some of Biter, which was kinda interesting.

I've been reading the Walking Dead for a long time, haven't picked up the two most recent volumes yet, though.

but The Fix

That's written by Nick Spencer right? He did Morning Glories, which I've read roughly half of(though it's not close to done even with 50 issues).

To be honest, I haven't been into capes for a long time, with few exceptions like Kurt Busiek's excellent Astro City. And James Robinson's masterful Starman which is as good as Vertigo's best.

Grant Morrison is my all-time favorite. Dude is so good, he makes me want to write.

Have you read Doom Patrol?

If Not, you have no excuses.

https://www.amazon.com/Doom-Patrol-Omnibus-Grant-Morrison/dp/1401245625

Whenever you got the cash grab it, it's fucking mind bendingly amazing.

I just picked up the first of 4 deluxe editions that collect his Invisibles series today. (read the TPB years ago, but since I only owned the first one felt I might as well just get the Deluxe series).

Animal Man is also pretty essential. And The Filth is really interesting, even if I don't really understand it.

I've also read his Joe Barbarian which is pretty good, but kind of mundane in comparison to most of his stuff. Seaguy which is weird, short, and kind of fun.

I have Flex Mentallo which is a spinoff of Doom Patrol, haven't read it yet.

For sure the only one of those I've read is Descender, but Image has lots of really interesting titles like:

South Bastards
Postal
Low
Shutter
Autumn Lands
Invisible Republic
Monstress
Paper Girls
Lazarus
Black Road
Starve
The Fuse
The Umbral
The Goddamned
East of West
Chew

Plenty of titles I have yet to check out too.

Probably forgot a bunch of notable ones too.

I've been reading Revival it's fucking great. Small town drama with the twist that people who have recently died are brought back as we remember them (or so it seems) characters all dealing with their loved ones coming back and their regular problem and lots of shit happens.

Just finished the fifth volume. I have 6 and 7 too and the vol 8 (the last one) is about to be released at the end of the month.

I really need to finish Sandman I have no excuse for not having done so for so long. I've owned the first 4 vols for so long and only bought the remaining six this past summer. I also had the first 5 vols of Lucifer and bought the remaining 7 this past Summer too.

Yeah, I really want to get to that. It's been something that I've been wanting to get to for the longest time.

I also want to check out Gerard Way's Doom Patrol. I've heard nothing but good things about that and Young Animal in general.

Morrison's Doom Patrol is so perfect, I've never really had the inclination to check out anything after him. Same for every Swamp Thing after Moore's.

I just finished vol 7 of Revival, damn it's so fucking good. Can't wait til the final volume comes out in about 18 days.

I really like The Wicked + The Divine and Sex Criminals. There's a lot more Image books I need to be reading. I also really liked Invincible but I haven't kept up with that in awhile.

You'll probably like Saga. I highly suggest you pick it up.

What are your guys' favourite comic book runs/series of all time? I haven't read too many comics, but I'd say mine are: Watchmen, Saga, Whedon's Astonishing X-Men, Snyder's Batman (Court of Owls and Death of the Family), and King's Omega Men.

Oh man....:

Y: The Last Man (same writer as Saga)
Fables (Mostly the first half of it)
James Robinson's Starman
Hellboy
Transmetropolitan
Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol
Alan Moore's Swamp Thing
DMZ
Concrete
Castle Waiting
Preacher
100 Bullets
Sleeper
Sweet Tooth
Astro City
Watchmen
Usagi Yojimbo

Also Rocketo, which is so amazing was supposed to have 4 different 12 issues storyarcs, but years later there is only the first one collected, but it's so fucking god. If I had a lot of money I would fucking bankroll the dude.

In other news

Got the other 5 vols of Ed Brubaker's Criminal a while ago, i've had the first 2 for years.

Just re-read the first vol of it. Brubaker is easily one of the best crime/noir comics writers. Though I doubt anything will dethrone the masterpiece that is Brian Azarello's 100 Bullets, which is one of the best comics ever.

Vol 7 came out like 6 years after 6, so maybe they will have some more stories.

Speaking of Archie, I really, really liked Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, but that one keeps on going through so many delays. It's still one of the few horror comics I've read that did horror in comic books right.

Yeah it's really great. The writer on that and afterlife with archie is also the show runner for Riverdale, so the books come out sporadically. But I did see the artist from Sabrina tweeted out recently that he just finished up the newest issue. Can't wait to get a new one soon.
