Runways are cheap and easy to repair. Taking out a runway is only good if you're planning an immediate invasion. Apart from "missiles were launched" the only reporting in the media was "there's a couple boats there". If anything, calling Russia ahead of time was exactly the right thing to do, to prevent a catastrophic worldwide clusterfuck from happening were a Russian platoon hanging around and got blown the fuck up along with the airstrip. ...
