- One game every couple of years
- Games are mediocre
- Still think they're good
- Refuse to bring back any of their old franchises at all, like BC and Perfect Dark
- Don't listen to what people say they want

Rare is so horrible. Why can't they just admit defeat and disband?

They can't do anything without their overlords from Microsoft giving their approval. They've been wanting to make a new iterations of thess IPs for years but MS has repeatedly said "No"

Why do you think many key members broke away and formed Playtonic? Because they were tired of their every move dictated by Microsoft

It's really MS saying they can't do it? But since MS wants to make money, doesn't it make sense to do a new installment in an old franchise? Isn't that logical? Nintendo rarely create new IPs, because they know their other stuff sells.

Yes. You can't apply normal logic to suits who fund these types of things, they don't think like you or me

Rare wanted to do a more traditional collectathon platformer for the 3rd BK game but MS saw another peoject they were working on with customizable vehicles and then demanded Rare merge the two projects and as a reuslt BK Nuts amd Bolts was born.

And because it didn't sell well, someone like you or me recognize because it was vastly different from the other BK games that's not what we wanted so none of is bought it. However the logic of the suits who run Microsoft is that it failed because people just don't care about BK games anymore and the IP is dead in the water and not worth funding any sequels

Nintendo is a bad example, tbh.

I mean they make new Marios and Zeldas as fast as they can but Shiggy "What the hell why do you want another F-Zero what's wrong with you I'm too stupid to figure out how to put a gimmick in it and plus I'd need to make a custom controller" Miyamoto has been pretty open about how he's never ever going to continue certain series which shall not be named.

MS's gaming division isn't known for their wise business strategies.

Nintendo rarely create new IPs, because they know their other stuff sells.

But Nintendo has made/published several new IPs in the past few years. Including: Xenoblade, Pushmo, Splatoon, Tomodachi Life, Dillon's Rolling Western, ARMS, Ever Oasis (granted, the last two aren't out yet).

Some of those were also moderate to huge successes (notably Xenoblade, Splatoon, Pushmo, and Tomodachi Life).

Miyamoto's constant desire to throw in gimmicky controls is pretty annoying; it's why I was turned off on Star Fox Zero. If it was optional and could be played with traditional controls, I would have accepted it, but the fact that the gyro controls are required--not to mention the fact that you need BOTH the TV screen and the GamePad to play, that just ruined the game for me.

...Though in F-Zero's case I believe the real reason is that F-Zero GX didn't sell to expectations.

Rare today is not the same Rare from 2008. All the talent went to different developers. Modern Rare is now Microsoft's zombie.

Remember that MS is the same company that has now announced two consoles in a row and forgot to show of any games for either.
