Tom C Clark High School in San Antonio, Texas is under fire of its female student, Sophia Abuabara who was punished for not adhering to the dress code because she wore a long-sleeved dress that exposed her KNEES!

She was repeatedly cited on Monday for wearing the modest dress despite the fact that boys at the same school are allowed to wear SHORTS with a much higher HEMLINE!!

Her mother, Rosey Abuabara documented it by posting a picture of her daughter in the dress and a random boy at the school allowed to wear shorts at the school. It appears she would pass the standard "fingertip test" which asks that hemlines fall below the reach of a student's fingertip whereas a boy was clearly exposing too much

Sophia is class president and arrived at school for wearing that dress and she had multiple tests that ay in intensive subjects such as Physics, Latin and United States History and was outraged when the principal, Jerry Woods interrupted her during Latin Exam to discuss her outfit

The teacher asked him to WAIT to discuss it but Sophia said that messed up her concentration and was embarrassed by the whole situation.

A School spokesperson said "The issue was addressed by campus administrators in a mannner consistent with other dress code violations on campus and no disciplinary action was taken"

However, Sophia's Mom was CALLED to bring her daughter a new change of clothes and arrived but not with pants in hand but a HARSH LASHING to the administration

Rosey said "I went to the school to tell them that i was not going to interrupt her testing schedule because of her skirt length"..she was subsequently escorted off campus by police

That was when Rosey took a picture of a male wearing shorts to make her point stating "the boys don't have to deal with this. It's clearly a sexist practice"

But the male teen who was photographed in that picture, Robert Kinsel said "I didn't wear that around school all day. Those were my workout clothes and i changed before going ot the weight room after school."

Rosey plans to contact the ACLU and the school board to make an official complaint and change the "slut-shaming" mentaliity of high school dress codes.

This is why we need a common school uniform that is gender neutral for all levels of schooling.

Every school should have some form of:

Capri's (form fitting, loose, baggy, or cargo variants are allowed) + some form of blazer or sweater vest on top of a button up shirt with the school logo.

The belts, shoes, socks, underwear, hats, outter jacket, backpack can be whatever the student wants.

But we need some form of common clothing to avoid unnecessary distraction.
