The quality of games in either of these years is ridiculously high. Hilariously, 2006 vs 2011 is paired up with it today, and neither of those years would even stand a chance against either of '94 or '04.

this was definitely the standout 'what?' matchup i noticed. i think 97/01 clash earlier than you'd expect, too?

2004 deserved an easier first draw. 2004 is the last tolerable year in gaming, Fall 2004 was great.

Not just those 3 for me, but DKC, System Shock, Warcraft, Killer Instinct. 1994 was a pretty fuckin great year. 2004 was great dont get me wrong. Its a top 10 year no question. But its low in the top 10, while 1994 is probably 4th to me. 98, 01, 95, 94, 97 or 99
