It can be a band/artist, a company, director, franchise, etc, but it has to be somewhat of a unified thing beyond a genre (like don't just say "metal" or "shooting games").


I guess I'd probably say The Legend of Zelda, but I'm not sure. That and the Simpsons are the two biggest media franchises that really had a major effect on me. In some ways I think the Simpsons could be the answer since that has influenced my sense of humor and little idiosyncrasies of my speech, but Zelda has been more consistently enjoyable, so maybe that's a better pick.

For me it has to be the punk band Husker Du.

They are the band i know the most about. They have two classic records, 1984's Zen Arcade, a 23 song epic album, and then 1985s New Day Rising. I own all of their studio albums on vinyl, including the rare first album, the only time ive ever really gone out of my way to get something rare on vinyl specifically. I also own one bootleg and one or two live albums. To me, they're just a really good band. extremely influential in the music world, but their music just speaks volumes. Their story, with the two main songwriters eventually hating each other it seemed like yet continued in a band not really respected despite to legendary albums and a solid career otherwise. They would, according to what i've read to to out songwrite eachother and one up the other guy.

Going to be tough. Frontrunners include:
-Batman
-Simpsons
-X-Men (although the recent comics are lousy)

Kinda considers include
-Pokemon (I like the games, but the anime sucks)
-Monster Rancher (same as above)
-Saints Row (although it's just games)
-Elder Scrolls (same as above)

Granted, if it was all of Nintendo as a choice, that might work. Actually, depending on how broad we can take it, I might say either Marvel or DC. Out of the two, probably Marvel because they've had more good games and more characters I like. Marvel is like the Pepsi of comics, in that it seems newer and edgier despite being around forever.

So yeah, might say Marvel. It has some great comics, great cartoons, great video games, pretty good movies, etc. DC would probably come second.

I think that's a fair choice. I thought about it, but since I was already considering Zelda, it didn't make much sense to me. I like a lot of Nintendo things, but I think I like Zelda specifically more than I like the company as a whole.

The thing is I like Pokemon and I like Zelda but independently they're going to fall a lot further down on the list compared to other entries. Combined together and with other stuff, it might rank in my top5 although Marvel and DC will naturally top that list because those two franchises have done so much and pretty well.
