A billion dollars

Vue has pretty much all the channels I got before, losing a couple, but also gaining a couple I didn't have before.. but holy shit the layout is fucking horrendous. Like what the fuck is wrong with it? It takes me forever to find anything, and it just looks like utter shit. I know I just started and it's going to take some getting used to, but what the fuck are they thinking? They can't look at this and be like oh yeah this looks awesome

I'm honestly wondering if it's worth it now. It'll probably save me like a grand a year but it looks like poop.

Everyone I know has cancelled their cable. My brother in law cancelled his and the guy gave him the hardest time about it, told him that it didn't make sense to cancel it without another option lined up, and actually called him stupid when he held firm and said to cancel it immediately.

I'm in the same boat as you in the sense that I'm about to cancel cable and try something else. I haven't used it yet but from what I've gathered, Sling TV is better than Vue.

But I need DVR to record things and vue has way more channels. Sling not having DVR is an instant deal breaker

I'm one of the few people in the world that uses his cable on a regular basis. Sports, game shows, the voice, sports, judge Judy, new episodes of shows that I don't know how to find elsewhere on my actual tv, etc.

If I can find all that on vue I'll be okay, but why make it so difficult to do shit? God sony you suck so many balls sometimes

I gotcha, I rarely follow shows and pretty much never DVR stuff so I guess it's more a better choice for my case.

That looks pretty amazing.. just researched for like a half hour. Amazon tv looks better than the stick..

I wish I could do a free trial of that for five days and decide then instead of just being like blam 90$ let's see how it is..

It's what I use to do when I watched TV. But I haven't watched tv in over 3 years.

My wife likes cable, but I'd get rid of it and pay for the better internet instead if it were up to me. Canada's options aren't as good as America's though, especially after Shomi closed, my personal favourite.

Now there are other options so I can't wait to rub my nips at them

I don't think they realize that they're a cable company, not an employer >_>

tbh, while Judge Judy is only available in syndication, that shit is pirated like crazy so most of the episodes wind up on YT *and* they're formatted so you never start or end midway through a case.

That sounds like a Sony made interface. Have you never tried visiting the store or anything on a PlayStation? The PS3 store is a total joke.

So is the PS4 store. Sony's interfaces suck balls I know this. And I hate it.

I just assumed their tv streaming service was going to be different. No idea why.

Yeah I saw that kodi thing, I just wonder how long that's going to last before it gets shut down. Sounds sort of illegal.

I don't want to invest in something that's just going to get shut down in a month

kodi itself is just a media center application. it literally used to be xbox media center

what you're doing is adding a repository through it that gives you access. kodi itself isn't doing it, and the developers actually don't like that people are doing that with their app, because it makes people assume that they're the ones actually doing it when they aren't. however, they also said that they aren't going to stop the ability to add repositories, either.

Right, I've heard that before, "what we're doing isn't illegal, we just provide a service. What people do with that service is up to them."

I've heard it while streaming UFC events or while watching movies before they come out. I have no problems with it, but you know it's going to eventually get shut down. It has to.

Still though, amazon tv is looking like the best option

kodi and XBMC has been around since 2000.

it's not going anywhere any time soon.

despite the fact that, it actually can't. they can stop updating the app, but that doesn't prevent that you can find the APK of it...everywhere. they can't retroactively shut down past versions.

beyond that, kodi itself is open source.
