It sounds fucked up but I just read that medicaid costs 250 bil and SS payouts over a trillion a year
Just feels like a punishment to everyone who works and is taxed out the ass for programs or benefits they will most likely never use Not to mention it's helping the classes of people that probably contribute the least to society --- Cubs, Rockies, A's, Grizzlies, Bulls, Cowboys, Patriots. ... There was a period when I had medicaid and a small amount monthly on SNAP while I studied for the MCAT and worked part-time. After I took the exam, but before the application season ran its course, I got off the benefits after getting a better job.
In six years I'll be in the highest tax bracket, contributing the most to these programs. It helped me out tremendously when I was in a turbulent period trying to break through the biggest barrier of entry for my career. It paid off. I'm perfectly okay paying back my fair share and more. I don't care that some people exploit the system. I know a portion of those utilizing it will use it as a platform to improve their socioeconomic status. --- "He has two neurons held together by a spirochete." http://steamcommunity.com/id/soviet_poland/wishlist ...
