Hey guys, can't sleep, thought it'd be nice to have a thread where we just talk about some games and stuff.

Let me start off by saying the DS is one of the best things to happen in my childhood, my brother and I would just play games constantly and often compete with each other, just bragging about who got further in a game or something. However, when I was young I didn't have a laptop or something so all my gaming news came from simply eye shopping and the occasional gameinformer magazine that comes out of no where. Looking back on it I missed out on a lot of games people consider "classics." (feel free to list some) I think the most popular, mainstream game in my arsenal was Kirby Super Star Ultra, which I loved to death. me and my bro even came up with nicknames for all the hats (I can't remember most of them but I think my favorite was calling wheelie "hot rod." wheelie was the best hat tbh)
Kirby remains my favorite Nintendo character of all time, and I absolutely cannot wait for the Switch game. I still have my SSU catridge but for the life of me I just can't get it to work. There's some black stuff on the chip part and I don't know if it's just dirt or scratched. I tried blowing it, I tried rubbing it, heck I tried spitting on it!

I can't remember my first DS game (when I first bought it I only had a bunch of bargin-bin gameboy games. Shout out to the avatar game and the spy kids game, I remember those being off the hook) but one of the first I bought was Urbz: sims in the city (along with Sims DS and My Sims Kingdom, the latter was cool but the former was meh imo)
I was still new the video games at the time, most of the things I played consisted of "keep going right and kill people along the way" games, so I'm not exaggerating when I say this game blew my mind with what you can do.
You had to pay bills you couldn't afford, you had to struggle to eat whatever you could get your hands on, you had to work 50 jobs, people often robbed you, it was just like living in my neighborhood! It got easier as you learned what to do but I always enjoyed it from start to finish. I only wish they had a proper dating system (Roxanna <3)
No matter how many saves I start I just can't enjoy it as much anymore.
I am longing for a new urbs games, knowing it'll never come. With all do respect, fuck the ps2 version the Ds version to me was the best.

Other than that I liked that one Avatar game, it was cool you know. I enjoyed the part where you had to dress as a fire nation guard to rescue katara or some shit, it was funny.

Man I lost just about all my old DS games I'm so angry! I only have 3 of them now, plus two games I bought a few years ago.
But yeah, what do you guys like? I feel like I made this too long, sorry :(

Underrated game, and it was a shame it was not brought over to the US.

Oh hey I heard about that game before! I remember I really wanted it because it was similar to this other video game I loved but I can't remember now. what was it like again?

Rune Factory 4

I just started replaying RF4 recently! I put it down for a good while and it just hit me I never finished the third arc
I decided to up and start a whole new game just to brush up and I forgot how compelling it was. It's kind of what inspired me to write this topic :P

I haven't touched my original save yet but gosh I remember it being sooo bad because I had no idea what I was doing and I started taking the farming part seriously until late game. Before the second arc started for me I ran through the Maya Road thinking it was the post game
somehow I survived and after I reached a road block the second arc kicked off :P

I can't get into any of the waifus in RF4 except maybe the Chinese one. I liked RF3 a lot more. Karina is best waifu.

One of my favourite games for the DS was one called Dungeon Explorer. A great little Diablo-like ARPG.

I tried playing a girl and, well, I can tell the game was made for boys 'cuz all the male choices are rather poorly written when you get into their various events.

really? I never played as a girl but I'll admit Leon got me going. Is it that bad?

RF3 was one of the aforementioned games I bought a few years ago. The characters certainly had much more personality and I think we all know Raven was the best haha. nice joke btw.

But I like RF4's harem, they weren't that bad. In my first run I went with Clorica because I related to her on a spiritual level in terms of sleeping
This run I'm going with Forte and she's so adorable <3

Stella Glow is one of my all time favorite 3DS games, heck, it might even be one of my favorite games period.

It's so good, but it's criminally underrated.

If you like the Luminous Arc series on the DS, you'll like this one.

RF4's harem isn't bad, I just don't think any of them are too particularly appealing. I barely played it though (like 7 or 8 days in) so I can't really judge them too harshly. I did go through the Wikia and Dolce seems like someone I'd be into. I do like that you can confess to anyone. Always made me laugh with some of the reactions you get.

Also I'd rank RF3 waifu list like this:
Karina > Sofia > Carmen > Daria > Collette > Shara > Marian > Raven > Pia > Sakuya > Kuruna

Just my opinion. =P

I loved the heck out of the demo
I always wanted to buy it but something else I wanted to buy came up :(

Dolce is certainly amazing, I particularly loved her kuudere act and her horror-themed area
I almost waifu'd her but I can't stand Pico

Ok I'll try to make my 3DS tangent shorter :p

The 3DS was probably the best present I ever received (from my moms) throughout the 4-5 years I had it I bought 5 in total, haha (the 2ds xl is pushing it to 6 :< )

The first ever 3DS game I ever bought was Etrian Odyssey 4. Being in first person I (the minority) really loved the 3D effect, it was so sick to see, but what really sold it to me was the demo. You see this guy just got his ass whooped he's all bloodied and battered and he tells "Yo homes don't go down those steps" and after searching all throughout the 2nd floor dodging bears and shit you finally find the stairs and they build it up saying "you feel an ominous presence" or some shit and by the time you finish you're like "Man I gotta get down those stairs!" but BOOM the demo ended! EO4 gave me a thirst for exploration I never knew I had, it was a rocket rollercoaster from start to finish. This game was the game that introduced me to gamefaqs btw just because of how hard it was. After years of waiting for a localization I absolutely cannot wait for EO5 :D

I have so much 3DS games it's impossible to go through them all \: though I don't really have that many games where it was so amazing I couldn't put it down. sometimes I waited until night to play so I can play on the lowest brightness getting an extended battery life and whisper swears without people hearing me :/
I bought Rune Factory 4 pretty much on a whim and sure enough I got hooked
I bought Fire Emblem Awakening on a whim, too (Solely because of Smash hype) and I got hooked

Speaking of a which people like to say FE: Echoes is a weak game, but I loved it. After Fates' absolute shit story it was refreshing having a nice story to follow, and the even decked out the game with complete voice acting! sometimes it felt like watching an anime! I really love the story of this peasant boy who joins the army and rises up to fame and glory, it was refreshing tbh.

But yeah you guys got anymore? I no it isn't out yet but man the new Metroid remake is gonna be awesome.

This man gets it! Played through twice to get both endings and probably gonna go and play it again eventually.

What endings did you go for @T0ffee? I went Giselle and then Hilda. Rusty and beehive made ng+ a breeze.

I'm also a big fan of Rune Factory, to the point where I took the time to get Mei in RF1. I personally liked Forte and Clorica for 4

Fire Emblem goes without saying for me.

My first run I went with Sakuya Then when I hit NG+ I actually saved before the final hit on the final boss so I could see all the endings.

I know I could have just youtubed to see all of them, but there's something about seeing them all yourself that feels very satisfying.
