Do you consider yourself a geek?

I don't really consider myself one because video games are pretty much the only typical geeky interest that I spend an above average amount of time on. Hell, with TV and movies my interest level is probably below the average person, let alone a geek

Not really, just liking video games doesn't mean you're a geek. I mean, i've met some spazzoids in school and stuff, now those people were nerds.

This is my signature, there are many others like it, but this one is mine.

Not really. I probably know more than the average person in things I really enjoy and I'm not embarrassed to say so/show it. However I also enjoy learning new things and the understanding of them. Life is a constant lesson to me.

Meh. My nerdy qualities are outweighed by my other qualities.

It depends on how you define it... I'm decent looking and charismatic, though an introvert with interests that are decidedly nerdy... This in many ways has been to my detriment though, as most of my friends are outdoorsy and adventurous and there's very little overlap in terms of hobbies (while I do have some redneck leanings, it's not to a big extent)... One of my closest friends is big into hunting, another hosts an annual event called the "Dude Saga" at a lake house... Neither being my scene.

I break open computers and phones to fix them for a living, manage our network, look for IT solutions for my company on a daily basis, use open source systems for our web development, and manage databases across 48 states.

In addition to playing video games, I've designed a few mobile games (Java, XML) from scratch using Android Studio.

You could probably call me a geek.

I'd disagree with that in the sense that I'd probably move nerd out of the middle and into the spot "dweeb" occupies, because a) that really isn't what dweeb means, and b) nerd sort of fits well into the "smart person with poor social skills" area.

I'd say the real defining characteristic for the middle area would be that you're a geeky nerd or a nerdy geek, with which one is dominant depending on whether or not you're more science/math flavored (nerd) or pop culture flavored (geek).

Plus there's no corollary between geeks and intelligence. Some of the geekiest people I know are also fucking morons. One of my CCG & comic geek friends couldn't even graduate high school in 4 years.

Yes, I am the geekiest/nerdiest person I know. I'm like that stereotypical Chinese guy who's good at math, and lacks the ability to be social. I seriously have been getting nothing but A's all the time because I make studying a hobby of mine. I don't have many any other hobbies other than reading, video games, and studying. Sometimes, when I feel that I'm stuck on a problem, I have obsessive thoughts about trying to solve it, and end up feeling depressed because I don't know how. I'm also obsessed with constantly checking my grades. That's just how nerdy I am; it would be damn hard to find someone who liked someone like me. In the two days since summer school ended, I've been doing nothing but studying math for next semester, and playing video games. I'm also excited about that probability book that's coming in the mail this Wednesday. I also have no idea how to talk to people and try to make conversation, as that heliy what's-his-face has pointed out before. I don't know how to make friends and I'm starting to believe I may have some form of autism...

Starting to believe? I thought you confirmed it a while ago. In any case, your complete lack of ability to recognize humor pretty much confirms it in my armchair psychologist opinion
