Sell it for me. the series is famous for it's amazing writing and great, memorable set of characters set in memorable world that's built really consistent. basically the series are divided into several sub series. the first one is called trails in the sky, set in the kingdom of liberl. the second one is is trails of zero and ao which is set in the crossbell state and the third one, and this one is trails of cold steel which is set in the erebonia empire. all the "sub-series" are independent to each other, but since they all set in the same world aroudn the same time, you will get reference and cameos and context from the other games. basically you can't play trails in the sky second chapter without playing the first one, but you can easily enter trails of cold steel blindly without playing sky first. think of it like the MCU movies. you can't watch thor or iron man as their own movies, but jumping into iron man 3 without knowing anything iron man will probably cause some confusion etc. now let's talk about what makes the games really great. firstly, ALL the NPCs are named and they ave their own unique dialogue and it changes as the story progress. for example, the first store owner that you meet, which are usually the most generic NPCs found in RPG have his own story, family, relationship etc. he will talk about his life, his job, his freinds and current events surrounding this world. you do several story missions and come back he will say different things, reacting to what you did and other development in the world. etc. this video explains in detail why the attention to detail in trails series are just so massive and great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaN2G-AEd9Q then there's the world, and it is one of the most realized and interesting world in videogames history, competing to games like planescape, mass effect, elder scrolls, etc. it is just so detailed and interesting. basically it's a post industrialization continent with several countries and factions, rife with political intrigue, their own culture, cities, provinces, ideologies and religion. take the septian church for example. it is such an interesting organization. at the public space, they acted as schools, hospitals and counseling, giving the citizens of the world services like education, sanctioning marriages, even healing etc. on the other side they also deal with ancient artifacts from previous advanced civilization, which they basically range from a curiosity with strange powers to weapons of mass destruction. in the background, the septian church hold absolute monopoly on this artifacts and their knights called the gralsritter or literally grail knight in german are this shadow army that tasked to search and safeguard this artifacts, sometimes with violence if forced. their gralsritter are some of the most fearsome, strongest individuals in the world, and with that, the church is one of the strongest faction in the world i could go write a book about the factions in the game, but nobody has time for that. the main conflict is basically a multinational grand scale conspiracy done by a group called ouroboros involving these artifacts from previous civ. the saga are separated into different countries and sub series because it is so massive in scale while still being believable considering the ouroborous are one resourceful organization. --- http://i.imgtc.com/iJyp6bF.png http://i.imgtc.com/ZBw36Qh.png Thanks for the peeps that made the pics <3 if i make typos it means i am on phone <cite>apolloooo posted [p:884105933] in trails of ... Zero one isnt localized yet both of them. From graphics enhancement to quality of life improvement like skipping battle animations, etc. Plus all of them run on 60 FPS on pc and not really a demanding game. The downside is waiting for pc port because they come latercthan the console version.
