This makes me wish Super Nintendo World had gone to Disney. Even if Super Nintendo World is fantastic, its quality will be lowered by simply being in the same park as a Jimmy Fallon ride.

Jimmy Fallon is cool to hate for edgelords but he's really not that bad and so inconsequential that if you spend time actively disliking him you have problems.

Except he actually sucks, so it doesn't make you an edgelord to hate him. You could say the part about being inconsequential with just about any entertainer.

Jimmy Fallon isn't completely horrible. Unfunny yes, but not completely horrible. Seth Meyers is an infinitely worse talk show host.

That said, if NBC follows the trend of giving talk shows to untalented Weekend Update hosts, then it is only going to get worse from here.

What sucks so bad about him? He has a talk show and plays funny games with his guests, makes dumb videos, and laughs at his own jokes. Pretty simple and not really in the 'sucks' category.

Definitely not better than Kimmel or Conan but beyond that I can't think of anyone who is unarguably better than him.

You already named several of the reasons why he sucks. And don't forget being a horribly obvious ass-kisser to guests.

I understand if Colbert's show rubs people the wrong way and you don't think it's better than the Tonight Show, but as a comedian, Colbert himself is miles ahead of Fallon.

I agree the Colbert Report was better, but I find it a little funny when people (not that I'm saying I think you are one) act like they're "betrayed" by his new show or whatever, when in reality he was always political and always made fun of conservatives. I'm sure also that being on a broadcast network and in the typical one-hour late-night format also has had an effect, and I don't think that's entirely fair to blame on him.


It would have been interesting to see the Colbert Report for the Trump presidency since he'd have to dial his character up to ridiculous levels.

Agreed completely on all points.

But at the center of it all what I don't like about him is that he's BLAND. I feel like he's just about the most safe, uncontroversial, shallow talk show host you could ever have.

Well, when you're following up on Jay Leno's legacy, that makes sense. Actually, compared to Leno, even Fallon is a significant upgrade.
