Turns out my dad was cheating again, or at least trying to. He was sending nasty texts to a co-worker. I wasn't given the details of what the texts contained, but it was enough to finally drive my mom to leave him.

She talked to a friend of hers who has a vacant house. She agreed to let us live there until next spring if we fix it up, put in new carpets, repaint the inside. Basic stuff like that, then she's going to sell it next year.

My mom recently quit her job, and is doing odd jobs at church for extra money. I'm going to go with her and my cousin, mostly to just get away from my dad, and partly because I'm concerned she wouldn't get by on her money alone right now.

I kind of expect us to have to move back here in the spring though. My dad doesn't realize that she's actually leaving him though. He thinks it's just to help the friend and to give them each a break from each other for a while.

He's trying to get me to give him $500-700 though to buy a truck he wants. He also said he was going take everything in my place and burn it while I'm gone, and then he'll live there and I need to pay him as a housekeeper. >_>
Money hungry jerk. lol

This evening she mentioned us living there by Sunday morning, so I guess she wants to move tomorrow. Idk, it'll be hectic if she expects to be living there by then. I asked if we get everything settled in a day, and she we'd see. I'm guessing it'll take closer to a week though.

Burn my stuff and move in? Definitely.
He'd also definitely ask for money for that, but I don't think he actually believes I'd pay him. So I think he was trying to be irritating. He shut up when I told him that if he's living in my place he should pay me instead. Although, it really is theirs anyway.

Have you considered recording your conversations with him in case he actually did do something like that?

My mom has a bunch of recordings of him threatening to kill us, or himself. She's saving them for the next time he becomes violent and we're going to have him committed for a psych evaluation and get a restraining order. Although, looks like hopefully we won't have to deal with that now.
