I like Athena and Blackquil, but what a throwaway nothing case for this late in the game. No investigation, 1trial day, no apparent connection to the plot. I hope this somehow pays off later, otherwise this is an absurdley pointless inclusion.

I knew Chapter 4 was real short going in, but the series has kind of a reputation for short chapter 4s that are awesome, so I assumed it would be something nuts.

That was like filler, like some $4 DLC or something.

Just a "hard-mode" castle 1-4.

And then you have the Koopa at the end throwing hammers; nasty surprise and a big difficulty spike.

I liked it. Not a TOTAL filler case since it has some character development stuff. Treat it like a bonus case that could have been DLC but got included in the main game.

Still the weakest case in the game, but I'd argue it's the second best "worst case" after 3-1.

Second best "worst" case after 3-1.

Meaning, taking each game's worst case, 3-1 is the best of the worst cases, followed by 6-4.

I don't think it's especially controversial to declare 6-4 better than 1-1, 2-1 (or 2-3 if you prefer), 4-3, and 5-2.

I think 6-4 might be worse than 4-3, though probably still not as bad as 2-3. The culprit is absolutely bottom tier in my book, the whole plot doesn't work localized, and it's so low effort overall.

I only knew this was about SoJ because LtM had said a week or so ago that he planned to play it soon.

I don't know why people have a problem with an AA case being filler since many cases in the series are total filler. I dunno that it really matters when it happens either. I don't think the case inherently becomes better if it's the third case instead of the fourth. 6-4 has bigger problems than that, but I still mostly kinda like it.

I honestly wish that AA had more cases like 6-4. It's a nice opportunity to have some fun with characters that aren't necessary in the main plot without wasting a bunch of time. Like some other cases in the franchise do.

6-4 is actually exactly when there needed to be filler; 6-3 and 6-5 are both really heavy, and 6-4 serves as a nice intermission between the two.

Same here! I like 6-4 for what it is. If it makes you feel better, 6-4 was the last case actually developed and was made entirely as a breather between 6-3 and 6-5.

It doesn't localize well at all, it has very little to do with the overarching main plot, and the defendant is the worst ever, that I just turn my brain off and reveal in the audacity of Blackquill being a weeaboo. That, and Athena and Blackquill being together is quite nice.
