Sonatine and outrage are two great but wildly different yakuza movies from takeshi kitano.

While not Yakuza, and it's kind of a downgrade from good mob movies on our side, you can watch the anime "91 Days."

While I'm not a fan of mob movies, I know that "Battles Without Honor and Humanity" is considered the "Godfather" of Japanese cinema. I've never actually watched it though (nor have I seen the Godfather)

The issue here is mostly "good" in regards to anime selections.
You're gonna have a lot better pickings looking for, like, modern military-ish gangsters than mobsters/Yakuza, with picks like Jormungand and Black Lagoon. Yakuza in anime are usually punching bags. --- H E Y W A S S H I L E T S E N J O Y K A G A W A L I F E ... Copied to Clipboard!
