This is an ongoing wrestling sim of 1983 WWF, run in Total Extreme Wrestling 2013. (because 2016 wasn't out at the time!) The game has run at this point from 1/1/83 to 1/1/85. It's time for the end of year prediction mini-contest! The winner gets to pick somebody I have to give some sort of title in the coming year. I also want 1985 to be a "gimmick year," so I'm also asking you to vote/discuss the direction I go with that.

Here are some major developments if you need a refresher:
-We joined the NWA.
-AWA has become a problem, and we have declared war. Meanwhile, fellow NWA member GCW has quietly usurped the top spot in the world. It's a triple threat, sorta!
-We bought out AJPW, and have gotten a lot of mileage out of using some of their guys as a heel stable.
-We now have All-Star Wrestling and Thursday Night Raw on TV every week. Both are A-shows.

I'm gonna be honest I haven't been paying enough attention to like, the stuff that isn't your show write-ups and don't have enough knowledge of the 80s to really guess anything that isn't related to your fed, to have any chance of guessing most of those End of the Year Awards. I'm just gonna guess stuff I feel is related to WWF and very few from the other stuff.

Man if I'd known it was gonna be that obscure I would've previewed and given more hints. >_> Usually guessing Japan for everything would've at least been a safe bet!

@Lopen : Please post any wrestler I have. I must do my level best to get them a title of some sort sometime in 1985. Tournaments count in a pinch, and I won't hotshot them a belt for two days if they suddenly sign with somebody else.

@everybody who wants to participate, Lopen included: "Vote on stuff every month" seems to be a good consensus, although I realize I didn't make the vote form very clear. For January, please *PM* me (for suspense!) with each of the following:

WWF All-Star Wrestling
Wk. 1, 1/85

Pre-show: Brisco d. Dave Taylor (56)

Hansen's in the ring. Last show, he outlasted Terry Funk and his idiot brother to retain the WWF Title, but all anybody can talk about is the stupid tag tournament! Hansen's better than Flair, he's better than Duggan, and he's better than the whole tag team division! Flair and Duggan come out to object, and a tag match is set for the main event, with Tenryu joining his boss. (92) We get a ten man battle royal for NWA Title #1 Contendership! It basically consists of all the upper midcarders, and La Parka for some reason. Dory Funk Jr. is also making his in-ring debut here. Final four is Bruno, Muraco, Sheik, and Parka, with Bruno going over Muraco at the end. (71)

Style and Substance are unhappy that DVE was able to sneak away with the NWA Title in what should have been a 1-on-1 match to start with. They get no respect and no opportunities! (59) Future Perfect put away Afa Reigns and Luis Edwards, while the latter rants about "the sins of the father." (70) All Japan is back in the locker room, when Baba and Tsuruta confront Hansen about his comments in the opening. He clarifies that of course Baba and Tsuruta are the premeire tag team, and he wasn't talking about them! (73)

The Barbarian is in singles action tonight, picking up a win over Ivan Koloff. (57) Hogan lets us know that he's bummed about losing the battle royal, but that just means he's more fired up for the Rumble, brother! (86) Terry Funk hands Razor Ramon his first WWF loss. (72) Money and Power and Death catch up to DVE backstage and surround him. DVE is lucky that they're focused on the Rumble rather than on him, but he should still watch his back. (80)

Tully Blanchard puts on a hell of a match with Meng! Tully goes over, but Meng looks like a future star. (90) KING'S COURT with Jesse Ventura! Ventura laments his loss of the IC Title, but puts most of his energy into lambasting Jake. Roberts shows up after a while, and taunts Ventura with the IC Title....only to get blasted from behind by Lawler! The heels leave Jake laid out in the ring after a vicious beatdown. (68) As booked at the top of the show, Tag Tournament champs Flair and Duggan look to prove a point against Hansen and Tenryu. Match goes to a DQ when Hansen gets annoyed and brings a chair into the equation. (86)

Overall: 86 SUCCESS

Wk. 1, 1/85

Pre-show: Atlas d. Onita (56)

Hogan welcomes us to the show and reminds us that he's gonna win the Rumble, brother! (81) We follow that with a fast paced match between Steamboat and Razor. Crowd's not that into it, but Steamboat gets the win. (66) Style and Substance are out here to whine some more about opportunities and respect, but this time they are cut off by the Faces of Fear! SnS have had it easy compared to FoF, who have been busting their butts without so much as a whiff of title action. Heenan tells FoF to get lost. (53)

Sheik puts down La Parka. The ol' "lose your way up the ladder" approach. (60) Jones and Snuka discuss Rumble strategy. Neither has anything particularly helpful to give us, but at least they're fun. (67) Jesse Ventura drags a good match out of that Michaels kid, but of course goes over. (72) Tully and Bruno are backstage. They've had a pretty decent run as partners, but that was always a temporary arrangement, and now Bruno has a shot at the NWA Title. They part ways amicably. (87)

Muraco beats Edwrads. (66) Lawler calls out Jake. He wants that IC Title, and after last night, maybe Jake understands the depths Lawler will reach to achieve that! Roberts appears not to care much, clearly still loopy from the beatdown last night and/or various substances. (56) Hansen and Tenryu are tagging again tonight, this time against Terry and Dory Funk! All Japan gets the win this time. (74) Future Perfect come out after the bell. Last night Hansen was ragging on the tag teams, but Hansen will regret it if he lumps everybody in with that soft, whiny team that has the belts! (61) DVE is ready for Bruno at the Rumble! (88) Our main event sees Money and Power get a mite of revenge against tag tournament champs Flair and Duggan, albeit only after judicious use of the coal miner's glove! (81) Flair and Duggan are down but not out after that match, and we'll see who's standing tall after the Rumble! (98)

Lawler and Ventura are in the ring. They are gonna make Jake hurt, and they are gonna take the IC Title. Roberts has backup tonight, but it ain't gonna matter. (69) Terry Funk defeats Afa Reigns in a solid brawl. (76) Hogan is still talking about the Rumble, but this time he is cut off by Muraco, who thinks HE is gonna win! There's a tense standoff between the two faces, but no violence. (90) Snuka and Jones are also cutting their usual nothing-promo when they get laid out by Sheik and Koloff! Looks like they're gunning for the Rumble as well. (41)

Tully beats La Parka, but not without a good fight first. (72) Tully goes on to tell us how much he's DOMINATED WWF, and how much he's gonna DOMINATE the Rumble! (92) Future Perfect take on Hansen and Tenryu! All Japan fight well, but the superior teamwork of Future Perfect becomes the difference maker, as Windham is able to finish Tenryu. (73) Steamboat cools us down with a training montage and martial arts demo. (76) Money and Power roll through Jack Brisco and Shawn Michaels. (61)

Bruno calls out DVE. Bruno thinks DVE has gone soft, and soft people aren't champions. DVE, on the other hand, maintains that he's in the best shape of his career, and Bruno's gonna be very disappointed if he thinks he's gonna get the NWA Title! (78) Style and Substance don't think Faces of Fear DESERVE a shot at them! (60) Jim Duggan beats Steve Williams. (77)

Flair and Jake come out together. Jake's not scared even if Ventura and Lawler team up on him, but backup doesn't hurt either! (89) The big main event is an honestly somewhat disappointing outing in which Lawler and Ventura manage to outlast Jake and Flair. (79)
