So is it a well known idea that Sayori would not have killed herself in the I love you timeline had Monika not gone in and forced her too? Because that just makes Monika even more of a shit person and more reason to demean her.

It is uncertain whether Sayori would have killed herself without Monika's influence. Depression is a murky thing; it could have, in fact, been Monika's manipulation of Sayori's depression that incited, however intentional, her confession of feelings for you.

What can be conjectured is that, as Monika had to amplify Sayori's depression in order to incite the suicide, Sayori's depression is not necessarily that bad. She is depressed, perhaps has suicidal thoughts, but would be very unlikely to make a legitimate attempt. But it's still somewhat conjectural.

I just don't understand after everything she did to those girls she can still refer to them as her friends. Real friends dont screw around with a person's mind until they off themselves and over a person you just met at that. Monika is scum and didn't deserve what she considered a happy ending. I mean, she did realise what she had done in the end. I think she just went a bit crazy after the reality crisis she endured. When reality around you is just a game, it can't really matter etc.

at that point, it's like she is torn between her friends and us in reality. i mean when you realize nothing is real, you want something real, and some people are willing to abandon the lies for something true. guess that's been really of a shock too for her. in the end, she really did horrible things but remorse came after that. as for it redeem monika in your eyes, it's really your choice but for myself there is a space for sympathy in her plight

More than any other fictional character. I'm usually pretty "whatever" when it comes to bad guys in games but Monika really struck a chord with me. I think it has something to do with Sayori reminding me of my sister and how angry I'd be I'd someone messed with her head enough to make her kill herself. I'd probably go on a rampage.

I'm not sure if I understood the game right but aren't they all basically just creations of Monika so she didn't go crazy. Like she's not influencing them, she MADE them. It's no different than you making a Sim

Yeah obviously she forced her to kill herself. She never acted that depressed her entire life because she never was that depressed. She even mentions she just "do what she (Monika) said".

Honestly deleting everything instantly seems more merciful then slowly destroying minds. Its like detonating a nuke over torturing a person to death. Yeah.

Are you serious? No, she's like the other girls, she just has fourth wall awareness, which Sayori also gets at the end of the game because it's heavily implied to be tied with the president position. Also, she just got awareness, she didn't have it before the literature club started.
And also, this should be common sense to anyone who doesn't have psychosis or something but she's also just a fictional programmed character. Deadpool isn't any more real than the other marvel character despite having "meta awareness".

Though @Duncanwii did you know that Monika is also depressed? She said she wanted to kill herself in the second file that appears in the folder during act 2 and in one of her topics. In one of the special poems an anonymous person who is heavily implied to be her cuts herself and said she might end it all if it ever came to it. All the characters in DDLC have problems.
