I noticed that two items rung up as $3.59 When they were on sale 2 for $4. We argued for a bit and then I pointed to it in the ad. The cashier sighed as if it was a pain to change it and I realized the total price was still off since I knew the items I bought should have ended in a price of 50 cents. I tried checking after I paid to see what else but instead of arguing more I left. As soon as I left I realized the mistake another item rung up as 3.39 when it was supposed to be 2.50.

Should I have went back in the store to mention that? Also is it rude to point this out because the customers behind me seemed mad I was taking a while arguing about the price.

No, take your time. Your a paying customer, your money, get it right. Everything in this country is overpriced anyways. Cashier seighed because he or she is lazy.

Maybe I am reading it wrong but you got a discount, if two things=3.59 and not 4.

Ok I will do that next time. Major thing that upset me was I knew what my items cost and knew I should not have gotten pennies back. But I ended up with pennies.

It's not wrong to get the price right.

Would have been a waste of your time to go back in though

Yea. That was the thing I made sure to argue over the other thing was 89 cents so I let it go.

No, you weren't rude. Some stores are better about automatically applying discounts than others. At certain stores, I watch the screen carefully as the items ring up to make sure I get the sale price.

I just realized why the items rung up different prices. They are rare flavors of the items. The store usually stocks one or two flavors and I picked up the rare flavors so they didn't update the system to have that flavor under the sale.

This was a rare occasion where I got pennies back. I was expecting the price to be 9.50 it turned out to be 10.39. If I was paying with a $10 bill I probably would have gone after the other wrong price but I paid with a $20. I always bring 4 pennies when shopping to make sure I don't get pennies back.

If you're absolutely certain that it rung up wrong, go ahead and tell them and don't budge until they correct it. That said, of the half dozen years I spent in retail and of all the dozens of times a customer claimed something rang up the wrong price, it was always because they were just too dumb to read the signs properly and the computer was correct.

Yeah, this. A lot of the time, the customer was just dumb and couldn't read a simple description. If you are in the right and it legitimately didn't ring right, you are fine asking for them to change it.

I was certain and earlier I gave the answer to why they rung up wrong price.

For example the ice cream I bought was blueberry crumble. That is really rare for the store to have it in stock. They usually only have vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and butter pecan. So their system probably doesn't have blueberry crumble attached when the ice cream goes on sale.
