in FE7? he's easily one of the worst units. i mean i like using bad units myself but it's silly to claim they're actually good.

I don't really care if he's actually good or not. I'm not someone who goes online and looks at the average stat growths for units. Dorcas was a beast in my playthrough. Probably got RNG blessed but who cares? My personal experience is what matters to me.

In a similar vein, I just got 'pity broke' by Mia. I actually feel a bit justified in not being happy with that one because I cannot bring myself to use a unit with voice lines that bad.

The thing with Dorcas in FE7 is he's basically glass even with his high HP without crazy RNG luck. He's not a bad archer (the actual archers in the game have bad strength across the board so it's kinda cool to have one who'll often hit 30 strength and have good skill to boot) if you get him to survive till Warrior, and keep him protected and using bows at basically all times at that point, and play him that way, but his average speed and res are ass, and his def isn't great either.

There's a reason he's my most often dead character in the game, though.

Well if you're a coward and soft reset whenever you lose a unit then replace "most often dead" with "causes the most game overs"

My Bartre also dies a lot and I used to think he was awful too. I do think he's more trouble than he's worth but he actually has decent speed growth so he turns out okay if you can keep him alive a while so his growth gets him out of getting doubled by literally everything (3 starting speed is rough)

I think axes in general in FE7 are kinda underpowered. I swear Hawkeye is the second best one.

Harken is way better than any axe user outside of Hector. maybe even better than Hector in Hector mode. then i'd put Geitz third and Hawkeye fourth.

I have pulled 4 Fallen Robins now. And 3 have had -Atk. (The other, the one I'm using was +HP, -Res)

Do the different boons/banes all have the same chance of showing up? -Atk seems like it's more common than the rest but I'm not sure if that's just confirmation bias on my part.

I would assume they're all the same. I definitely haven't gotten a disproportionate amount of -ATKs, but my boon/bane luck is generally pretty good.

-Atk isn't a big deal on Grima. It's far from ideal but he's already got so much attack that it barely affects him.

I tend to get -Atk more than anything else. As far as I know, the chances of getting any of them are equal.

That's what I have for all 205 of my pulled units. That's a lot worse that I expected. Although, I've been lucky that the 5* characters I actually want to use have largely avoided -Atk or -Spd (which doesn't prevent Myrrh from drawing -Def).

My game hates defense, apparently. The one thing I've noticed, though, is that if a unit's boon happens to be HP or Attack, the bane will more often than not be the other. I have 4 -HP, +Atk and 5 +HP, -Atk 5* units.

finally got something i actually wanted from a legendary banner. +spd -HP Brave Ike. not sure whether to use that or the +res -spd i already had. getting kind of absurd though, because i also got another -spd Summer Corrin when no greens showed up. which brings me up to 5 dupes from legendary banners and 0 new units when i only had 1/3 of the units from the color each time.

Is your base corrin also minus speed?

I feel like speed boon Ike is better. He doesn't need to get doubled to fire off QR Aether. The speed difference between the two is significant. 35 with a hone keeps him safe from dragons if you need him to do that. Or better at breaking Wary Fighter

my base Corrin is +HP -def. i just find it funny i summoned two with the exact same boon/bane that isn't an upgrade out of only three blue units total from this banner while i'm trying to snipe green.

and yeah that's kinda what i was thinking about Ike. but he's really in trouble against dragons that can still double him (i've fought a 42 spd Myrrh before <_<). and on a lesser note, it lowers his ability to tank a blue mage and respond with a player phase aether. both with the lower HP and res, and potentially not getting doubled to activate aether. though Micaiah is probably the only blue mage anyone would use that might not be able to double him.

Minus res Ike can still tank a 65 atk blue mage even if getting doubled. Without considering any buffs, I think that is fine. The speed boon isn't really preventing a double outside of Micaiah as you said.

There's going to be oddly fast dragons but i don't think the res boon is saving him if he's getting doubled. Better to reduce the chance of getting doubled, imo.

I think four of five Brave Ikes I've summoned have been minus attack. It's odd but I can't complain since he's great fodder and I have +def -res on the other.

As you can see by my list my 2 Brave Ikes were minus atk (I actually don't really care because they're Steady Breath fodder anyway). Almost inclined to think limited units skew towards -SPD or -ATK given results in this topic ha ha.

no colorless, so i took red for my free summon and finally got another Tharja to give Eirika raudrblade. funny i finally get one at half the usual chance. as much as i wanted a bunch of Faes before, getting Myrrh kinda alleviated that need. though i did get 3 Faes from the legendary banner so i might still go that route at some point.

if you're getting the stat boost you're getting the arena score boost. so the other thing is, you need to be in a matching season.

I feel like Red is a totally worthless color for me right now. Aside from getting more Lon'qus I want very little from it. I've been trying to get more Vanguard Ikes (to no avail) and every red unit I've gotten instead has filled me with apathy, and I can't think of any others I'd want anyway. I've got more than enough 5*s for Arena Assault and outside of Roy giving Triangle Adept it has the weakest pool of skill fodder.

don't forget ward armor, the most-used emblem buff for armor. i pull so many Draugs i just toss it to every new armor i get.

green is honestly getting to the point where it might be worse than colorless. it's basically just like... hone cav, renewal, glimmer and the positioning skills. hone cav and renewal are the only things unique to green aside from weapons. i guess fortify armor is also potentially worthwhile now with armor blade tomes being a thing.

I forgot about Draug. I haven't pulled that guy in a long time and am in need of Ward Armor now.

Draconic Aura, Luna, and Savage Blow are pretty good from green. Savage Blow is unique to it, but you don't really need a lot of this skill. The green pool is much smaller and I still feel like the odds are higher that you'd get a useful one than a colorless unit.

it is higher, but most of it is replicated in other colors, and the unique skills aren't as good as the unique ones in colorless. my main problem with colorless is it never has focus units i want, while green has a ton, especially lately.

i'd trade you Draugs 4:1 for a couple Athenas <_<

I haven't targeted colorless since Innes was released. LnD and Death Blow are big hits, but there's not much in consolation prizes.

Got a 5* +SPD/-RES Roy off the free draw (thought it was Soleil only did not catch the 8 other featured units before I drew probably would've went Colorless otherwise).

Would never have drawn for him ever but I guess I can at least level him a bit. Maybe Binding Blade will be upgraded at some point.
