Results, day 1:
Jump Up, Super Star < Beneath the Mask, 23-25
Terra < Battle Against a True Hero, 17-32
Zero < A Continental Gale, 21-25

Day 1 roars in with a bang. The first match started with Beneath the Mask jumping out to a commanding lead, and yet Jump Up Super Star refused to go away, and fought its way back into the match and even briefly took the lead before BTM tied it again. It was a final push at the end that sealed it, though. The side bracket match went similarly, except Zero never actually had the lead. The middle match of the day was never in jeopardy, though Terra did have a strong push at one point to make it look close before BAaTH pulled away with it.

It did change.

Terra was pretty strong in the first few contests.

It changed to become weaker.

Because it's not that good outside of the actual melody (which is fantastic, by the way). But it takes more than just a good melody. That's why I vastly prefer remixes of Terra.

Results, day 2:

Spiral of Erebos > Second Dark Matter Battle, 27-17
Overworld < Mystic Pendulum, 14-30
Heaven Candidate < Melodies of Life, 16-27

All three winners were in control of their matches, pretty much wire to wire, though the two main bracket matches tried to push back a little at the end.

Vote count dropped a couple from yesterday. After having 50 people vote yesterday (though not 50 for any one match,) I was hoping we might see that today before numbers started to trail off. Instead, we had 44 today, which is still good -- regardless of what lefty might grump about regarding the good ol' days -- but I hope y'all stick around.

Which "other versions" do you prefer?

I mean stuff that isn't eligible for something like VGMC. In particular I like the Distant Worlds orchestral arrangement, but also I generally prefer even just like random piano arrangements of the song you can find on Youtube.

Side note: I could have sworn I'd seen a Smooth Mcgroove cover of Terra, but evidently that doesn't actually exist and I am crazy.

City Streets 2 (Mango Tango < One Night In Neo Kobe City, 21-25
Besaid Island < Laguerra del Mundo, 15-31
Sunrise Purple < Xeus, 14-28

First match was miscounted up until the end, giving Mango Tango an unfair edge. At the end, the fix was enough to...well...fix the match. Other two were easy doublings, despite many grumblings about my bracket positioning of Besaid.
