anyways, as with most kids, I watched the first 2 seasons of Digimon back in the day on Fox

I didn't like Davis and the fuckboy crew because the style changed. It was monster of the week but in one place. Like Power Rangers or something, ya know?

but the first one with Tai and crew was the best

Leomon is my favorite digimon, Agumon and his line is my fav from the main crew

I actually watched the third season recently and it was okay. Impmon sucks ass.

I was made aware that theres a fucking JOJO LEOMON out there.

My main goal is to get him on my team in this game. I love Jojo and its LEOMON. OF COURSE

anyways

I've heard this game described as "for people who grew UP on Digimon, not just for kids. Its a console Pokemon with a dash of Persona"

If you want to get one from scratch, yeah. Their percentage goes up each time you fight them, and at 100% you can convert their data into a new Digimon for you to use. The weaker the stage, the faster the percentage goes up. Waiting until 200% gives a better ABI, which is needed for many digivolutions.

any advanages to NOT digivolving them as soon as you can?

Stats are just dependent on species, so waiting longer won't get you any extra stats. But for some it might be worth it to get new moves first. De-digivolving is how you raise your ABI. Depending on what you want, you might have to digivolve and de-digivolve multiple times before being able to digivolve into something specific. The higher your level when you de-digivolve, the more your ABI will increase. The main Digimon from the anime typically have ABI requirements.

Yeah, in order to get some of the better Digimon, you're going to have to satisfy a bunch of requirements along the way, with a high ABI being one of them. This means a lot of digivolving and de-digivolving to grind that number up.

Yeah it's all on the digivolving screen. Where it lists the level needed to digivolve, it'll mention any other requirements if there are any. It becomes more of a thing when going to ultimate or mega.

So apparently Botamon can evolve into Wanyamon

Wanyamon turns into Gaomon

and Gaomon turns into Leomon and then I can probably take it from there

and I have a 200% Botamon right now

Oh yeah, raising ABI also raises the potential max level. You'll have to either digivolve Palmon into something else first and then when you de-digivolve back to Palmon, the max level will be high enough for Togemon. Or you can just de-digivolve to Tanemon and work your way back up.

The only advantage of being max level when you de-digivolve is that the higher your level when you do it, the more your ABI stat increases. How much you get goes up every 5 levels or something like that. The ABI stat, aside from being a digivolution requirement sometimes, determines your max level and also how much you can raise stats by training in the digi farm.

IIRC there's no advantage to going to max level before digivolving. Like I said, stats are based on the species. Digivolving at 15 or 30 or 99 won't have any impact on your stats or anything after you digivolve.
