WickIebee 03/22/18 4:37:36 PM #151:	I actually liked the second arc of SAO more than the first. Just goes to show how much the first arc irritated me from the start. Yes, by second arc we already knew Asuna was going to be boring bait that despite being a great warrior is probably going to play damsel at least once because her character is about as dull as a princess locked in a tower, Kirito is a shitty hero as well. Kay, we already know that... What does the second arc do? Sit on a long plotline of incest that yes, is pretty boring but at least gets us into the life of another character, showing that the author actually is not incapable of progressing side character storylines. Sure, the author has the character development of an NES game in the world of VRMMOs... but still, at least there was some utilization of alternate cast. It even had some side characters that played a good part in the leaders of Cait Sith and the Elves. All this probably leads to why I actually liked Excalibur and will never deny that Mother's Rosario is actually the only good arc of SAO. --- I'll just go back to gifs. The past part was in the second episode of the arc where Kirito was learning to fly. Just felt really magical. All the elf alliance stuff was really good too. Done, and I enjoyed School-Live quite a bit! It was nice watching another happy show about a school club where the characters enjoy each other's friendship. Seriously, that was really good. "Cute girls survive a zombie apocalypse" is a great premise and School-Live more than did it justice. I called a few of the twists but they were still handled well enough to be compelling, particularly the ones about Yuki's psyche. She was the most interesting character, and the other three were great as well. They each had their own development and added something to the overall group. It was fun watching them finding ways to enjoy themselves even in that situation. I did Quality Control for it. If anyone knows my slice of life anime/VN favorites and like those you'll probably like this too.
