Trump knows the bigly rally is going to continue for many more years, but wants to give everyone a chance to put some money to work at a temporary dip

1. America sent too much money and too many jobs to China, creating its own replacement in exchange for a more affordable higher standard of living (stuff is cheaper). Short term gain, long term pain.

2. Trump is going to force a reset that will almost certainly lower the standard of living for everybody below the upper middle class, but the end result will be a stagnation in growth for China too.

The problem with this plan is that it requires a lot of other people to side with America in order to work. Instead of strengthening the economy, they're just forcing everyone else to cooperate more with each other. Right now, it's not going to have a major impact. As things escalate though, reliance on the US will basically cease to exist and when it goes from needing America to their participation being optional, they'll be left out in the cold and only capable of acquiring deals from a position of desperation, and they'll be worse than the ones in place now. This trade war is fucking stupid and simply can not go well today. Maybe decades ago, but not now.
