Poll of the Day > Should I play the Shadow of the colossus remake, or the ps2 Version.

My dad's friend gave me the remake because he didn't like it. He thought it was going to be something like Skyrim.
This is cool since I own the ps2 version but never got to beat it since my ps2 broke. But I feel like I should play the ps2 one first.
Should I?

They're exactly the same but the new one looks and runs much better, especially on PS4 Pro.

Well, that doesn't really matter to me. I just feel like the ps2 version is better, like in the N'Sain trilogy, where the original 2 and 3 are better.

PS4 > PS3 > PS2 version

Me to, but i was polite and didn't say anything. He's giving me a 40$ game after all. If he doesn't want it, his loss.

I mean, better resolution and framerate is objectively better, but you do you. Just make sure you play the PS2 version on a standard def TV or it'll look like a muddy mess.

Otherwise I'll probably find a ps2 somewhere and play that.

Everything is better including the horrible framerate. And you should care about it considering it ran around 20 fps...it was not enjoyable sometimes at such low fps.

There's no pros and cons to each.

I played it on the ps2 when it came out and was intrigued, challenged and satisfied with a well thought out game.

I'd play games all day everyday on ps2 because that's what I have to play a ton of games on and not a ps4.

The PS2 version has a really inconsistent frame rate, and it can be visibly distracting and possibly disruptive to the gameplay in sections. The PS3 version fixes the frame rate issue and various tweaks to the graphics, but otherwise they're essentially the same game (other than a glitch or two potentially being fixed).

The PS4 game is redone from scratch, and while it is generally faithful to the original, there were various minor tweaks to the game play. I believe the general consensus is that these tweaks are an improvement over the original game (people had a tendency to criticize various aspects of the control scheme).

Where are you? If you have a US / Canadian version of the game, don't play on PS2, it was rushed to release for holidays and was missing content.
