I'll start with an example: Battler Ushiromiya from Umineko.
So when Mr. and Mrs. Ushiromiya had their child born, they had a question that every other parent asks; "What do I name this adorable mini-person I've created?" I can imagine the conversation going like this:
"It's a boy! Congratulations!"
"What are we gonna name him, dear?"
"Battler."
"Excuse me?"
"I said we're going to name him Battler."
"...w-why?"
"Because I want to give him the most radical name possible. So he's Battler."
"Why not something simple like Jin or-"
"Hush mode, bitch. Hush mode. He's Battler now."
But it's not just his name that makes him cool. No, he lives in a city where magic is real. And you know what his philosophy around magic is? "Magic isn't real, dumbshit." He even goes into that magic-nullifying state that I forgot the name of through the sheer power of "fuck off, magic is faker than a thot's boobs, you are all stupid." That. Is. AMAZING. Even though I never finished Umineko after that part and I need to replay it, it's been so long.
So, think your character can be at least half a Battler? Tell me about 'em.
