It's clearly inferior to MH but I'm still having fun so far. Zeus 05/27/18 9:30:05 PM #469:	Apparently Silver Spoon is subbed only on NFI, so skipping that for now (too tough to read subs on a small screen) and have instead started to rewatch the first season of Naruto which, so far, is even worse than I remember. iirc, much of the first season is a wash although I still want to rewatch the Chunin Exams. Also I started the live-action version of Kakegurui which so far seems a lot better than the anime. (The opening is certainly less creepy and, tbh, I never liked the anime's art style.) I like how it's even goofier than the anime, especially given the convention of having characters talk directly to the camera or having everybody else stand still for the internal monologues. Only downside is, with everything happening on screen at times, it can be hard to follow the sub. That and the hair colors are more conventional, which I don't really like. Oh, plus they didn't bother translating most of the kanji (even the captions, excluding so far one scene with the student council. And, speaking of the council, the lolita-gamer character looks creepy. I'm almost done with it, but I'll put some concluding statements anyways because I don't think its conclusion would change mine. The show is grounded and has a lot of maturity in regards to characterization, character development, and themes. I usually see seinen tags on MAL as just edgy anime, but when they aren't, it's a real treat. Both main characters are fantastic, and very individualistic. Anime centered around a duo usually fail to maintain my interest more often than not, so I'm glad I'm not broken. The show has wonderful presentation, and it's my first Wit studio anime that's not action oriented. Will read the manga, since it's not that long and concluded. I recommend this show. It also reminds me a bit of March comes in like a lion. (Only downside is almost being out of episodes... and it looks like some events won't get covered just yet.) I think Jun Kiwatari's role in the drama/live-action is larger than the anime, as I don't recall his character appearing before episode 4. However, he's there from the first episode of the drama... and he's fucking hilarious. The anime version was just a creep and seems somewhat dangerous, but the drama makes him far more obnoxious and antagonistic, thus making him a more memorable opponent. Actually, I think I prefer just all the drama characters to their anime counterparts. Sumeragi wasn't as great at first, but I enjoyed one of the later scenes where she's meeting with Mary Saotome. Oh, plus the drama seems to break things up more. As for re-watching Naruto, I'm tempted to just skip past the first story arcs and start watching during the Chunin exam. Zabuza (whose sword can't be beat, or so the legend goes) has been worse than I remember, but probably because they over-explain everything and really drag shit out (well, far worse than later in the series).
