Leif and Morgan just got in the game and Selkie still isn't in the game so I don't expect alts for them in the near future. Maybe we will finally get a Ryoma alt or Owain in the game.

I mean Sanaki's snarky line makes me feel better about the situation, but it's still a place I'd rather they not go. I even like the character and would love another flying mage but I'm not tempting to draw for her at all.

Another set of mages with cool skill ideas and unique tomes! Lower-ceiling Atk/Speed-only versions of Owltomes with no refinability but much easier activation conditions are neat. They're solid sidegrades to the Owltomes, but Prf. Cool gimmicks as far as Def/Res Link 3 and Spd Feint 3 go, though I don't know how viable they are. Def/Res Link 3 I think is more useful since movement assist skills are widely used as part of common kits, and it has fairly good synergy with how reposition is commonly used to protect weaker units. Being a B skill hurts it a lot though since your unit now can't run a skill like a breaker or desperation, heavily limiting their actual combat utility just to apply a buff for safer baiting. Which, I tend to think is an issue when so many of the units you might be targeting are DC melee units.

Spd Feint on the other hand I think is way too specialized. If you're using normal buffs at all, you're usually either running an emblem and probably have Hone and maybe Ward skills up already, or if you're running a mixed comp, there's a decent chance you're using the increasingly common Tactic C skills. I mostly see rallies being used to manipulate AI on defensive teams and/or just for score on T20 arena teams as opposed to actually buffing. Which, is a long way of me saying that Rally Assists aren't very commonly used for the most part, which means you're probably having to sacrifice a more useful Movement Assist to be able to use this. And then, you sacrifice the rallying unit's attack to be able to decrease Speed by 7 in cardinal directions.

Compared to a Ploy skill, you're taking the B slot instead of C slot, occupying your Assist skill slot with a Rally as opposed to having a stat requirement, and getting to line things up and activate the debuff during your turn (albeit while losing the Rally unit's ability to attack) instead of having to line things up then wait for the turn to begin to activate it. And you also debuff more. But compared to a Chill skill, you're being forced to use a Rally Assist, you have to be able to get into the right position, and you have to use your unit's action for the turn, in exchange for theoretically being able to hit multiple units and/or hit units besides the one with the highest stat. Which I really don't think is worth it, because I feel like the majority of the time, the unit with the highest speed is the one you want to debuff anyway.

As for Ninian's skills, the only inheritable weapon of the banner is nice, although probably not something you'll be inheriting off anytime soon unless you really want to buff speed. It's nice that the buff actually affects her too, at least. She's definitely very speed buff-oriented. It is awkward though since it's only a +4, so it doesn't get you as far as a Hone or Tactic buff would. Sure, she has Drive Speed, but she's still only getting you just slightly farther than a standalone max buff would even with her combat buff. I feel like her tome's utility is going to be redundant with whatever you end up finishing building her with.

Chill Atk is nice to have, but feels like it's probably the least relevant possible Chill skill to have on a dancer, since a dancer's usually more preoccupied with offensive buffs and debuffs, and Escape Route/WoM are much more relevant B-slots. I'd really love to have the skill to fodder away to have more of a chance to neuter some of the worst arena cancer I see (https://imgur.com/jFRfQ7t), but I sure as hell ain't foddering a seasonal dancing mage for just a niche skill option. I really would love to see accessible Chill skills though. They're something fairly situational that make it hard to justify pulling for 5* exclusives just to get the skills to mess around with, but I'd be more than willing to promote 4* pulls to fodder them for Chills if that were made available.

Ninian's art is AWFUL. As a big fan of hers, I am pissed about this. Good thing I have Flying Azura, so I don't feel obligated to pull for her. And good thing she's not an armor dancer

I'm kind of surprised Camilla isn't here given she's much more popular than all three and hasn't had a Bridal variant, which a ton of people would want

Olwen is a special case where absolutely nobody from her game is popular so they spruced up the banner by putting Reinhardt and Olwen alts there since at least FEH players already know about them.

And yeah, it's a pretty slow day due to a combination of Grand Conquest(zzz) and a month long Tap Battle for.. some reason. I'm really feeling it due to me trying my damnedest to not pull(and thus not have any new units to train up).

Yeah I had fun with the first two Rival Domains and adore the idea of a bigger map and more units but I dunno. I don't think it's the kinda thing you can run every 2 weeks or whatever.

I also think it's kind of a waste of the bigger map/unit pool. There are much cooler things you could do with it.

Tap Battle is really fun once you start going for S Ranks on Expert mode. I mean you don't get a reward out of it or anything, but the enjoyment is it's own reward.

I think the big map experience was significantly improved by the changes they made in the last update. My only issue with it now is that Grand Conquest takes a big time investment to get all the rewards and there's only so many big maps I want to play in a period of time.

The improvements were actually a bit excessive because they can make maps really easy. Enemies don't attack on warp, +4 all stats for cavalry and cavalry auto double on initiation can all be active at the same time. A mediocre all cavalry team can frequently beat Infernal via Auto Battle under those conditions. Sometimes I had to stop the auto battle early so the CPU doesn't destroy the enemy fort before getting 20 kills.

Yeah I actually kinda liked it better with instant attacks on warp. There was strategy you had to use to reliably win there where you had to creep forward and not put weak units in range of ANY fort. It was kinda degenerate a lot of times but it was at least challenging and unique. Now you sorta just mow and mow down on a fort until you can hit it twice. No real risk to over committing because they're sitting ducks when they warp to stop you.

I guess the mode is still kinda challenging on Infernal so that's something. Lunatic I regularly am getting a full clear in 5-6 turns and needing to farm enemies for a few turns to get full score but Infernal I'm cutting it real close

So I guess it's better since now I get more points meaning I need to play it less to get all the rewards

One of the many things wrong with RD is you're actually punished for doing this. Like... what the hell are you proving by waiting and farming the reinforcements? If anything I'd rather see a time bonus for getting the enemy base down quickly.

like...allow us to fix IVs. theres stat boost items in the fucking games. let me farm up a bunch of dumb item X so my ayra's -atk IV isnt as bad.

maybe im just spoiled by fate go. the gacha is awful, but the game isn't stale to me simply because it hides the repetition far better i think

Dumbest part about Grand Conquest is that the best way to score usually doesn't actually involve helping your army. Like, in VG you're not always being incredibly helpful to your team, but at least you're still making points for your team one way or another. In GC, each battle is actively more difficult for me if I choose to fight in a non-bonus area, and I'm likely to get less points as such, particularly if I'm auto-battling. Last time, I almost missed out on T25 and had to manually control a bunch of fights because I went with areas where my army needed points to win the area. This time, I'm going to make it to T25 no-sweat because all I'm doing is spam auto-battling on areas that provide multiple buffs to a unit type and even the AI can take Lunatic forts with those buffs.

Redid arena runs a day ago, only took matches over 700

It didn't bump up my rank as much as I liked, I think I jumped ahead 1k? Sitting on 11,620(out of 13,620) right now so.... I have no clue if I'll get back in 20 or not.

Also, I'm so going to miss Male Kana as a bonus unit. Dude is freaking amazing with essentially +10 stats. A shame I can't even merge him to half of that. But he is absolutely someone I'm going to look out for for future merges.

(So much for BrazenDef/Res fodder)

welp, leaving behind a 4% pity rate unless i decide to spend money here. i've cleared out every possible orb except a couple from grand conquest (not enough to summon again).

i wish those monthly deals were better. like, $2 for 21 orbs? yeah, i'd pull the trigger on that. but $10 for 21 orbs... that's hardly better than the normal (terrible) rate.

I was going blue/red. Wanted Tharja most, but also would have been happy with Ninian. I'm not put off by her art like most people seem to be. A bit derpy in a good way to me.

With that, I'll have three solid flying squads for arena assault. I will probably let Tharja go now. That was my intended budget here, and my original Tharja will still be better

I mean, it's not like demotions are that uncommon as of late. We had Shigure and Nanna from last month, MorganM in March, L'Arachel from February, Sothe from January, and Soleil from December. Beside the seasonal banners, Fallen Heroes has been the only real big exception as far as units being demoted.

And skillwise, Shigure gave us Wo Lance and 4* Ward Fliers, Nanna gave us Restore+ and a 4* non-limited Drive Def 2, etc. Like obviously nothing quite on the scale as if we'd gotten 4* Vengeful or Bold Fighter, but we ain't being completely snubbed here. As much as I'd like to have real access to being able to make diverse skill builds without throwing down a couple hundred a month...

Amusingly I got 3 Bride Ninians (+HP/-Def, Neutral, +HP/-Res-- will keep +HP/-Def) in the first 40 orbs

Then I stopped drawing blues because one was more than enough. Currently gone empty sniping red for 70 orbs or so (3.75% currently) but I'm out.

I dunno if I wanna merge the extra Ninians or keep em for Chill Atks or what.

Don't have him and won't ever be drawing for him so I doubt I'll get him. I do agree it seems like a deceptively good tome but you need a specific type of unit to really use it and I don't think I have any blue tome users that really profile as good users. Ninian herself is one of the good ones but yeah I could sooner see myself distributing two Chill Atks. Thinking I might give Matthew one. Seal Atk + Atk Smoke is often excessive since the Atk Smoke will often hit the initial target anyway (or the initial target will be dead)-- Chill Atk would make him stronger in a lot of situations.
