I'm sitting around 150 last I checked. I love having a physical retro collection and I am working through it, but with new games coming out and games like Street Fighter or Animal Crossing that have no end, I find myself getting sucked into a never ending cycle over time.

Over 300 for sure.

Too many.

I can count every one of them on at least ten of my human fingers:

Twilight Princess
Super Mario 64
Ogre Battle 64
Final Fantasy XII
Tales of Berseria
Final Fantasy XV
Fire Emblem: Shadows of Valentia
Dragon Quest VIII
Super Mario RPG

The latter two I really have no love for because I hate turn-based RPGs; they're just games I've bought, haven't finished, and don't feel like playing.

final fantasy 15 got put off because spoilers killed the mood for me, had it for about a year now and its still in plastic wrap. it was only one spoiler and i'm about finally in the mood again to play it so for the love of god please no one spoil anything further.

final fantasy 13 lightning returns (time limit thing put me off, and haven't played 13-2)
golden sun dark dawn
final fantasy 3 3d remake (i've beaten the original version of the game though so no biggie for me)
hyrule warriors (played through quite a bit but haven't beat it)

and I guess the second (I think) blazblu game considering I haven't gone through story mode on it.

This was an interesting post. You have a good point there about perspective.

Oodles! More than I can count. Between download lists that I'll never download, retro stuff that I found at pawnshops/online/VintageStock/etc., and stuff that I bought with actual intention to play and have never got past booting up to make sure that it works, easily 300+.

I agree with @GanglyKhan above. I'll play what I want when I want to. And I've got plenty as sort of a reference library of videogame history, even if I never play them.

My backloggery says 1477, which includes 100 Classic Book (DS) but not a CD compilation of ~200 shareware games from the '80s and '90s that I haven't gotten around to listing. So, I'd say around 1600.

The DS remake of 3 is brutal. Not Final Fantasy 4 DS brutal, but pretty close. At no point is it easier than the original. In fact I'm certain its much harder always.

My library contains 770 games and I've launched 185 of them, so I have 585 games I've never even started.

And probably half of them I don't even know what they are (Thank you Humble Bundle).

What I've played feels roughly the same. I've heard ninja and sage got nerfed so you might be right considering late game. But I've also gotten a fair amount into the fame using mostly warrior White black and red mages. In the original I remember having to change it up more

I was surprised though I'm used to remakes being easier. Haven't tried 4 though I had a PSP first and have the complete collection version on it. And would rather have 2d sprites over those graphics

I don't use Backloggery anymore but I think I had something around 300 total and maybe 45% not beaten. So I'd guess 125-150 range. But I put everything I currently have in my possession on there, including random crap games that I'll never play. So my actual "backlog" is probably more like 100.

Over 1500 on Backloggery, and another 4800 or so on Steam

Games that I actually want to finish, or games that I just want to play? I have a lot of steam games that I'll probably never finish, and some games I have that I probably won't even play.

I had a short backlog of games that I started, but didn't finish for whatever reason. I actually got around to finishing them all recently.

I wish I could be paid to write in-depth articles and analysis on games. Of course, after the first 50 games, I'd probably start enjoying them a lot less, now that I'd be acutely aware of flaws.

The problem is many of my games takes hundreds of hours to complete (such as the Disgaea series) and/or are so broad that many playthroughs are possible (Skyrim or Fallout for example)

Sprinkle in a few games that don't have ends (Killing Floor 2) and various challenges that exist (Such as the ribbon master challenge for Pokemon) and I can spend months on a single game trying to accomplish things.

But I keep buying games when I see sales, and I'll often get games for Birthday/Christmas.

I think the only system I ever caught up on was the NES, and that's because games were different then (and liberal use of Game Genie). That said, I'm starting to "retire" some games as I'll never beat them so I'm taking them off my list, mostly games for PS2 since my PS2 died and I don't feel like fighting with trying to get a new one to play decently on my newer TV

I don't bother buying games that look bad, so 0. Frankly if your number is more than 1-2 then you're part of the problem behind why the gaming industry is so bad lately.

Think you are being a little strict there I have a bit more than that but I'm highly confident that I will enjoy every game. Just recently started final fantasy xv out of my backlog and loving it so far

What if all the games I buy are actually good though?

I always look at reviews of games before I buy and usually stay away from games that arent really for me. So I almost never buy shit games, especially from EA because seriously fuck those guys.
